A Muslim's Encounter With JESUS...Likens It To That Of Paul

Not many people gave him the chance to survive when he suffered a severe brain aneurysm in 1992 but Mr. Karim Shamsi-Basha defied the odds to tell his tale some 21 years later. Doctors rated his chances of survival very minimal because not many people survive the condition. Two decades later, Muslim-born Shamsi-Basha has not only fully recovered from the deadly condition but has also found the ONLY WAY to life - JESUS CHRIST. Shamsi-Basha has detailed his recovery and new-found faith in a new book aptly titled "PAUL AND ME."

The book talks about Shamsi-Basha's days growing up as a Muslim child in the Syrian capital Damascus. At the age of 18 years, he moved to the United States where he studied at the University of Tennessee. He started working as a photojournalist for a local newspaper and got married. Shamsi-Basha became a father shortly after his marriage but tragedy also struck shortly after. Shamsi-Basha narrates that he was covering a story about a fire at the Independent Presbyterian Church when he unexpectedly collapsed. Doctors later revived him but gave him the glum news that he has suffered the deadly brain condition.

He was given a little chance to make a full recovery.

His conversion from Islam to Christianity was however remarkable. Shamsi-Basha's neurosurgeon asked him to do a soul-search to determine how he survived the condition. He says it was during that soul search that he came to accept JESUS CHRIST. He was eventually baptized in 1996.
