Satan was created to serve and worship God like every other creature. More importantly, because he is a jinn, and also has free will like a man, he was also to be tested, and he failed the test. Then he now served a useful purpose as a reference point for measuring goodness or evil. Think of it, if light existed without darkness, it would be pretty difficult to appreciate and contrast it.This I suppose should be part of his purpose. To give man an option of doing evil.

I personally believe Satan (I prefer to call him Lucifer) to be a very charming character.

I can definitely say he is smarter than God (if both exist).

It's funny how he does nothing to gain the souls (if such thing exist) of men.

You know this is a really interesting topic. Kudos to the guy that raised it.

I personally do not believe in the existence of the entity known as Satan. I do believe in God of course.

But I do not accept that the entity described as ''God'' in the Bible IS the Creator of the universes, and the Source of ALL life and all that is.

At best I see this Biblical ''God'' as an ancient Jewish tribal deity of particular viciousness and ill-temper.

I find many of the Yoruba deities for instance to be far superior in moral content.
