i sincerely do appreciate the arrays off coments but am asking if really we should kill ourselfs over who pays what.the mosts important thing is gettig the jobs first.you only need be too concience about thier pay if you want to die in these Banks.we should get started with any of them cos we most start from somewhere and we need some experince to move ahead.iT"S EASIER FOR ONE TO FLIRT AROUND WITH JOBS WEN U"RE ALREADY IN THE SYSTEM.personally i wouldn"t like to work in a bank for so long cos am striving towards financial freedom and the earlier i start working towards that the better.so my fellow landers GRAB any prospective offer cos there is no time for DELAY having it in mind that your going somewhere. Better days awaits us ALL.

I am an insider, the analysis by previous posters are OK. However, one thing that should be mentioned is that some banks' salary structure at lower levels is better than others which pay better at middle or senior mgt levels. But for the purpose of this discussion the 5 banks mentioned by the first poster appear to be the highest paying. I heard of fantastic reviews for all categories of staff at UBA and Oceanic. Everyone in these two places appears to be singing praises of their MD/CEO.

Mr. Superstar, before i comment on your highly clarifying text-i must hail thee as a great Manchester United Fan. Indeed,if God be for Manchester United, who can be against us?
Your analysis of the various banks and their pay is enlightening. How such are you of your facts? one thing i know for sure is what you said about GTB Plc, its so true.
Keep up the good work. I know you are providing useful info for young Nigerians out there.

Hey guys, whenever there's talk about banks on nairaland, some banks are always left out. What's happening to SPRING BANK? do they still exist? no one ever says anything about them.
Re: Highest Paying Banks In Nigeria? by Aziza(f): 9:20pm On Jul 06, 2008
Bank PHB pays entry level N3.4 million per annum. 25% is performance tied pay of which 50% is tied to individual performance and 50% is tied to team performance. You also have health insurance coverage of N600,000 per annum. Nothing wrong in expecting performance from your staff. All serious companies do.

None of you guys have talked about Oil & Gas except superstar that just briefly mention it. Am working in an oil and gas and they do promote their staffs unlike the impression superstar gave earlier. The case is, there so many hierarchy in oil and Gas and a lot of bureaucracy. But if u are a field engineer it may take longer time before you get your promotion. And they do enjoy very well. The field bonus is 15k per day and some spend at least 3month on The rig offshore or onshore. In my company 100k for fresher, 500k (gbemu) for accommodation apart from furniture, medical etc. I tell u the best place to work in this country is telecom, oil and gas and self employed. Bank is just image.

Bank salaries are tempting but I wont give up the peace and knowledge I enjoy in an oil and gas company for money.
Oil n Gas is the place to be. Salary is almost the same, less stress, no targets, no wearing of suits like onions and no leaving work late, closing time is 4.30 and its strictly.
For a science student, bank work can kill my brain, abeg no crucify me o, I dey talk my own.

I totally agree with you. Even oil and Gas pay more than the banks and very much less stress !! My brother works for LNG and he lives like a king. he travels overseas every year with his young family. He doesn't have to worry about target, stress or some complaining customers. He works 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Banks can never be compared to the oil and gas.
