I suggested that NCAA should re-certify all PILOTS in Nigeria as part of their improvement process, many pilot do not go for recurrent training, and thus forget little things that can save them.

We should do the right thing and stop blaming anyone for the result of our 'stewpidity'. If you don't look left and right (and up in the case of 9ja) and cross the road and get hit by a trailer, your people shouldn't blame the government. If a pilot decides to trust his 20yrs experience and ignore an aircraft system warning. He should also take the blame when shyte happens.

A plane crashes and you are already calling for the head of the aviation sector without even waiting for the result of the investigation and when the prelim report comes out, you say it has been doctored for 'political gains'; and when you think you have heard it all, someone makes up his/her own meaning of 'An Act of God'! And this is why I will never board a local flight in Nigeria.

The risk is not worth it.

Most Aircrashes recorded in history have been due to pilot error... Even the Air France Airbus that crashed in 2009 enroute Brazil to Senegal was as a result of pilot error.
If the pilot heard a warning and decided to NOT abort take off because he would lose some allowances or that the plane would be grounded, then it's Pilot error and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Do you sack the IG of police because some idiot corporal has shot some unarmed civilian over 20 Naira? There's nothing the IG can do but sack and prosecute the man! Unfortunately, the pilot isn't alive to receive his punishment but he will be remembered in ignominy.

In August, I was on an Aerocontractors flight to Lagos and as the plane was speeding for takeoff, the pilot aborted take off at the last minute. The plane was returned to the Tarmac and grounded temporarily. This shows a sane pilot who was more concerned with safety than his airline's losses and his own too. Lets criticize with sanity and caution

We shall find out soon. However bear it in mind that just as cars develop instant fault midway your journey, so do planes. We have heard of planes that developed fault just after take off and turned back to base. In this case, the prelim report SUGGESTS that it COULD be pilot error...
