Stop being sentimental. Kidnapping is a capital crime. She is even lucky because in Delta state kidnapping carries a death penalty.

If her husband was stingy to her there are other ways to get money and not via kidnapping. Lets call a spade a spade.

I live in Europe but I know that there are people who are very poor in Nigeria and for them even 50k is a lot of money. Suppose the man earns minimum wage of N18,000 and tries to manage that money, does that amount to maltreating his wife?

People still die in Nigerian hospitals because they cannot afford N10,000 fee. We need to be more realistic and see what's happening around us.

What she did is 419 and worse. Faked kidnap, deception, extortion, waste of police time and resources, causing fear and distress to family, friends and community, etc.

She married to him and being as crafty as she is, probably knew the balance of her husband's account was N201,000.

Anyway you try to justify this, it is heartless and most selfish ordeal for her to put her husband and children through. Not to talk of the police resources wasted on the investigation.

Whatever she may have been going through, there must have been a better way to deal with it.
