Ogwashi-Ukwu means ‘’Palace of the great king’’ Ogwashi-Ukwu is an Igbo speaking tribe situated in Delta state, it is also the headquarter of Aniocha South Local Government Area. It is interesting to know that Ogwashi -Uku was the former Headquarters of Asaba Division.
Ogwashi-Ukwu is one of the most popular ancient communities in Nigeria and the paramount ruler of Ogwashi-Ukwu Kingdom is called ‘’Obi’’ and the current king is Obi professor Chukwuka Okonjo
The people of Ogwashi-Ukwu were mainly farmers, However with western education a lot of indigene’s from Ogwashi-Ukwu have since diversified into various business and industrial civilization
The people of Ogwashi-Ukwu speak Enuani Language otherwise known and referred to as Delta Igbo, with a population of well over 100 thousand stretched across the globe and their Traditional cloth is ‘’AKWA-OCHA’’ (meaning white cloth)

Am guessing you are from ogwashi, right?

All these prominent people but no transformer in most part of the town. The last time I visited Ogwashi-uku they are the worst town in terms of black out. No good houses except few with fence. These their great sons and daughters should please do something about it biko.

Not easy but i can see hope of breakthrough soonest, we have suffered so much dis-unity, it is time for
