It is well...
What are your options now?

WES evaluation is not a requirement in most of the schools i plan to apply to.

Graviton2:

It is community with roommate apartment — A large apartment with two sub-rooms and a living room. You are free to decorate as you please, but no cooking. The entire building is owned by the school and students are everywhere. #TurnUp

There are other options available, for students who want to live alone or want the entire apartment for their families.

I'm looking forward to the experience. What's yours like?

genxris: I give God almighty the glory for granting me my visa today at abuja embassy, I also thank each and everyone of u for ur contribution to this wonderful forum.
I used NL travel forum as my companion in my preparation even though I hardly comment I follow this forum religiously .
Note. I was delayed at d Lagos visa twice in 2012 so I reinforced and came back and got it today.
Nothing exceptional was asked after I have crammed different grammars and statements to make.
Here is my encounter
Vo. What r u goin to do in d united states?
Me. Am going for my graduate studies?
Vo. What major?
Me. Biz admin and mgt
Vo. What's name of skol
Me. Florida a & m
Vo. Have u ever travelled out of d county b4?
Me. No
Vo. (Presses d computer for sometime and say) so u work?
Me. Yes
Vo. Were do u work?
Me. I work as a .... With d ministry of bla bla bla owerri , imo state
Vo. How much is ur salary
Me. Told her
Vo. Who will be paying for ur studies?
Me. I have partial scholarship and my uncle will be paying for d rest
Vo. What does he do?
Me. He is a civil engineer and has his own engineering firm
Vo. Can I see his statements? (I gave her,she looks at it and see it is a american bank).. So your sponsor lives in the Us?
Me. Yes
Vo. ( Ask me to give her a minute and goes away with d papers and after about 15minutes) ( then na only me and d security man remain for d whole hall cos everyone has left... I use d opportunity to remind baba God that na only me waka come Abuja but I wan waka back to east with something )
When d Vo came back she gave me back d bank stuffs and my i-20 and told me d importance of keeping it well and hen told me those magical words and gave me d ticket to come pick the visa on friday.

If u have tried before and failed please don't give up if u really desire to go study in the states, prepare well, comit it to God and try again.
congrats bro

My lecturers here on NL, please advise on where I will have to improve because I will be going back by September. Thank you all!

may i add,

a little search revealed faulkner is a christian school, why dont u start by stating the obvious cos thats whats on the v.o mind christians frm christian backgrounds going to christians schools cos thier christians - so u start , am i christian and i want to go to faulkner cos i feel more comfortable and will adapt faster amongst christian.

this a little trick i learnt d hard way frm toasting random beau's in abj, people already try to guess the first statement you make, in this case if you can give him what he has in his mind you get an extra point. With girls, i always end the statement with - bt i know u heard that over fifty times today - bt that's only after i say nice skirts and she turn's around like whaaaa't.

secondly you don't know enough about your school, what's the city like any places you like to visit - as in free tourism;

then about your old mans coy, don't say he is a businessman - that crap. he is either a business tycoon, oil magnate, industrialist e.t.c businessmen are washed up wannabee's in your case - your dad's imports, sells, installs and maintain industrial equipments from drilling machines (oil rigs or groundnut oil)

dont say i applied to a , b , c - say i applied to 3 schools and got accepted to 2, then v.o can ask - which ones, learn to lead the converstation - are'nt you a girl.

I forgot my point's but i summoned the courage to ask the v.o for a few sec's to pull my self together and he respected that - pls go through the entire thread and look at the questions they keep asking

why this school
why not that school
who's kid are you
is you father really who u say he is,
if he is you should know alot about him and what he does
do you really like this school or was it your only option ( desperation is a romance killer , learnt that the hard way)
if you dont have an answer, rephrase his question and spit it back at him, with a lil something on the side
the first question, is the only question - if you can answer the first question sincerely - even if your saying crap - like i did, he will know your not some idiot , with canned answers like my gmail autoresponder's

stay away from your boyfriend for a few days till you get your visa, you need to fast and ask for forgiveness, and God's presence and favour, before you enter the building, when your in the building and as you walk to the v.o

Dont forget to smile, and avoid your cheap euro/american accent - if your english is not polished like nse etim's or yul edochie - stick with the naija flavor - some chik had this terrible fake accent, i knew she was fk.ud. she kept saying yah , yah, n girls dont say yah or yeah when speaking to strangers they say yes - these guys hang around nigerian's proly even date same or are married to one or more ,

like my o.g barrister.x say's keep it gangsta, keep it rolling - stay real.

Looks exactly mine, except for the gas cookers — I'll have to inquire properly whether we'll be allowed to cook when all our meals are taken care of by the school catering. I want to save my money, I'm not #RichGang

in 3 business days, you'll receive an email concerning your visa collection. Be sure to check your box steady, also check your spam....

Ones you receive d anonymous email, you are free to go to your collection centre for your visa... make sure you know your passport number b4 going.. it'll be needed. Also plan to reach there during their business hours-- their business hours are stated on the pickup slip....

Good luck!

busola78: evening everybody, pls i need everynes advise on this.am going for spring admission, thou am still searching for skools buh will soon apply by august.i work for my dad,he has his business acc running well, buh his personal acc not really running well, amean not much in d acc.ve bin thinkin that whennever i need go to d embassy i will use his business acc buh somone advised i shld transfer his business moni into his personal acc and make use of d personal instead of d biz,cos all d moni combined can only cover ma tuition and all other expenses.its like twice of wat i need.now am confused wat to do.pls i need your candid advise.

You have no problem. As far as he is your father he can sponsor you with funds in his business account. Just go with CAC papers of the company to prove that he actually owns it. I used a company account and I had no issues.

Pls guys I want u all to reason along with me.
going thru d threads from ages I ve discovered DAT f1 visa question never changes but answers to questions shud be upgraded becos even answers get outdated, our style of answers now LL get outdated with time even with dis Vos,very soon dey LL get use to d way we answer questions,........eg. Vo:y dis school?,Ans:I did an intensive research based on US news,Princeton reviews bla bla bla...... I think dis Vo s want to know how serious u AR as a student and what u Av done concerning d school....i think we shud understand d reason for all dose questions and be ready to develop our own answers if truly we really went to school before........d embassy is doing all dey can to avoid immigrants from their territories, apart from d spiritual aspect, gettin denied should tell us as intellectuals DAT sometin went wrong probably dey see u as a potential immigrant, especially in d way we answer questions.
Vo people AR human beings and I think dey AR trained psychologist, dey try to read us as we answer their questions.
Then lets not forget that as dey AR humans they also have their lives also, they have families back home, dey AR only posted here on assignment, some of Dem suffer mood swing, and might be having a bad day, maybe he or she just finished quarrelling wit a co worker or got quarries from d boss just b4 d interview and u became a victim,....of such interviews,.....sometimes a Vo doesn't even want u to talk too much b4 he just start giving visas like father Christmas probably because he is having a gud day gud mood, maybe its his or her birthday or something else............well I think much of d work of getting ur visa actually and seriously depends on u,and how u handle ur Vo,.....u can decide to change his mood even if he has been denying people b4 u,....ur manner of first approach matters alot,I believe u can say things DAT LL take his attention and he or she LL start asking u questions knowin fully well DAT dis one knows wat he is doing and serious as well,
I really want us to understand d psychology of all dis visa scenario and also know where to hammer prayer point......God might do it in such a way DAT d day u pick for ur interview LL be a gud day for d Vo, maybe his birthday or something or he LL just look @ u and decides to give u,.......well guys it might be anytin, and some of us LL have to convince d Vo thru to get d visa, but which everway lets just be prepared with all documents and what to say,and above all pray,.......pls I stand to be corrected concerning anytin I wrote.........like we always say........just my $2......shalom.
