This isn’t true for the Christian. We are part of the "everlasting kingdom," will have "pleasure forevermore," in a "world without end."

Dumb Question: "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?"

The chicken. God made the fowls of the air first, then they brought forth after their own kind by laying eggs. See Genesis 1:20.

There is a wise saying: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

That is solid advice when you are dealing with sinful mankind. But the promises of God—of forgiveness of sin, of peace with God through trusting in the Saviour, of a new heaven and a new earth—come from a faithful Creator, and there is no greater insult to God than not to believe His promises.

Dumb Maxim: "There are only two things in life that are sure—death and tax."

Plenty of people avoid tax; none avoid death (see Hebrews 9:27). The Bible calls death an "appointment," and after that appointment comes the Judgment. You can avoid the Judgment of God by repentance and faith alone in Jesus. If you are interested in avoiding Hell, see www.needGod.com

Dumb Maxim: "There’s no such thing as a free lunch."

Yes there is. See Matthew 14:19. God gave us freely all things to enjoy. It’s man that puts a price on things.

Dumb Maxim: "Crime doesn't pay."

Of course it does. Criminals have made trillions of dollars through crime that pays, and it will pay, right up until Judgment Day when eternal Justice will have its way (see Romans 2:6). Please, don't be found in your sins on that Day. See www.needGod.com

There were 100,000 unsolved murders in the United States, just in the 1990’s. During that ten year period, at least 100,000 murderers got away with murder. However, Judgment Day will prove that there is no such thing as any crime that escapes justice. See Hebrews 4:13.

Dumb Maxim: "No one knows!"

God does (see 1 John 3:20). Nothing is hidden from His omniscience. He sees your thoughts, your intentions, your imaginations, and He even sees darkness as though it was pure light (see Psalm 139). Every time you sin, you store up His wrath (see John 3:36). That’s why you need the Saviour. He can wash away your sins in a moment of time. Dumb Maxim: "Seeing is believing."

Any magician knows that isn't true. Our eyes are easily fooled (see Proverbs 28:26). There are many things we believe in without seeing, including the wind, history, love, radio and television waves, etc. Without seeing him we believe there was a painter, simply because a painting exists. Paintings are proof that there was a painter. The same applies with every building. We need not see a builder to know that he exists. The building is proof enough.
