Alex couldn't stop pacing up and down the waiting room, it had been two hours already since Daniel was wheeled in .....and then there was also her dad. She hoped they were both okay. She said a silent prayer before sitting down again.
"Alex calm down, everything would be fine" Nathan comforted holding her visibly shaken hands while she nodded.
Just then the doctor came into the waiting with two nurses, with the speed of light, alex rush toward them and Nathan also followed.
"Doctor adams! Doctor adams! What's going on? How is he?" She asked breathless. panic and fear written all over her face.
"Well first of all is he in any way related to you?" The doctor asked alex.
"No doctor, he is my friend" she answered impatiently
"Alright. Well luckily, his wound wasn't deep. He would recover in no time."
"Ah thank God." Alex exclaimed touching a hand to her beating heart.
"Doctor can we see him?" She added.
"Right now he is still unconscious and needs a lot of rest." The doctor explained.
" Alright doctor... What about ma dad? How is he?"
"Your dad also had a minor injury on his arm. But you can go see him. Nurse Bola... Please take them to the ward" he said.
" And Alexandra please see me in my office later" he added then walked to his office.
"Oh dad! So good to see you!" Alex said rushing towards her dad and then hugged him. He was sitting on the bed reading a newspaper with a huge bandage on his left arm.
" Hello princess? I have missed you so much since you totally refused to check up on your old man all this while."
"Ah dad its work o, but I am here now. I have missed you too" she giggled and hugged him again.
"Evening uncle" nathan finally spoke moving forward and slapping a hand on his uncle's extended hand.
"Big boy! How are you?"
" I am fine uncle. How's your arm now?" He asked sitting down on the bed.
"Well its healing. The doctor said I would be out of here by tomorrow" her dad said.
" How did it happen?" Nathan asked confused. He had no idea about what was going on around him. First some guy almost got killed in his cousin's house and now his uncle was injured.
"Well... You know...." Her dad started to say but couldn't complete it.
" Its my monster of a mum!" Alex said angrily to nathan.
" I don't know why she hates my dad so much....dad I don't want her to kill you one day oo" she blurted.
"Come on angel, don't talk like that about your mother. She just has anger issues. She is not that bad" he dad cautioned quietly while alex merely scoffed.
" So tell me. How's work? Hope you aren't stressed too much?" Her dad asked changing the subject.
Alex was quiet for some seconds before she finally answered.
"Umm. I got fired at work" she said.
"What!!!!" Her dad and nathan both exclaimed

Bobby kept on staring at the weird dude as he ordered his employees to pack the empty bottles in his resturant. It was already 7:45 and the guy was still drinking in fact he was already on his sixth bottle.
Bobby shook his head, all his customers that day had been strange, first Betty and a guy came in and then, she ended up leaving the guy after 20minutes, he claimed to have forgotten his wallet so he couldn't pay for the drinks they ordered. Next a married woman caught her husband in the resturant with another lady and ended up beating daylight out of her. Now this guy wants to drink life out of himself.
Bobby called a waiter, "watch that guy closely, and make sure he pays for everything he orders" he said pointing to the guy.
"Yes sir" the waiter said and walked up to the guy.
"Sir. Would you like to order anything else?"
"No no no... I mean yes yes yes... I want aleeexxx" nosa said drunkenly to the confused waiter.
He had never been so angry before, he was sure he almost killed a guy and he even hit Alex who had supported the guy...oh God why all this?.. He thought to himself rubbing his palms on his face.
There was only one person who could give him joy at that moment.
He stood up and staggered towards the door.
"Sir. Your bill is 3000#" the waiter said rushing to him.
Nosa dug his hand into his pockets and brought out some notes and without counting gave it to the waiter and staggered out. The waiter counted the money it was 6000#...and giggled happily but before he could quickly dip the tip into his pocket, bobby snatched it from him.
Nosa staggered to the main road, her house wasn't too far away but he couldn't risk walking. He stopped a tricycle rider.
"Hey! Take me to folade street" he ordered and hopped inside.
10 minutes later, the tricycle stopped
" Oga na folade be this. Come down"
Nosa came down, paid the man and staggered toward a house. It was getting late so there were very few people roaming the street. Nosa banged hard on the main door repeatedly....
The door opened and betty came out.

" I honestly don't know what happened dad, about that issue, it was all a misunderstanding. Someone set me up but the boss refused to listen to my explanation." Alex explained with a sad look.
'Don't worry angel. You can always work in the hotel" her dad comforted much to alex's chagrin. Just then nathan excused himself and moved out to receive a phone call.
"That's it dad, I don't want to work in the hotel. You have taught me to be independent, I want to make my own money my own way not work under you" she derided.
"Dad please understand" she added quietly with a pleading look on her face.
"I understand my dear. I would talk to mr akinluyi. He has been my very good friend for a very long time. He owns the new production firm at ikoyi"
"Ah thank you so much dad. I really appreciate it" alex giggled.
"Hey! Anything for my little girl" he said hugging her while alex frowned.
"Dad am not your little girl any more."
"That's the sad part" he replied
Just then nathan and the doctor walked in.
"Mr anikeh, how are you feeling now?" The doctor asked.
"Much better although. I have a little head ache"
"Yes so you would need to rest now, while I have a talk with your daughter" the doctor said helping alex's dad to lie on his back.
"I would see you later dad. Let's go nate"
Nathan, alex and the doctor both stepped out of the ward.
While alex and the doctor were discussing about daniel's condition, nathan spotted a girl rushing into the hospital with full speed, panic written all over her face. There was noway he would ever forget that face.... That very beautiful face.
She rushed to the doctor.
"Doctor! Doctor!. How is he? Is he okay?" She blurted all at once.
It was chidera.

" Nosa? What do you want here?" Betty asked confused. she was wearing a short pink robe. Her hair was a little wet, it was obvious that she just came out of the shower.
"Can i come in?" Nosa asked then burped. He smelled of beer.
"Jeez nosa you are drunk. What going on?" She asked as she opened the door wide for him and helped him in.
"Am really frustrated, I just need someone to talk to" he said as he slumped half asleep on a nearby chair.
"Ofcourse you can always talk to me" she said with a smirk as she sat few inches from him.
" Betty who told alex that I cheated on her?"
"Emm I have no idea. Did you cheat on her?" She replied faking a serious face while nosa laughed.
" Am not a fool betty. We all know how devious you are"
" I would pretend like you didn't just say that because you are drunk" she derided.
"Did you come to my house to insult me or what? If that's your mission kindly get out of my house" she said with the rest of her dignity. She stood up angrily and planted her fists on her hips.
"Oh come on relax. It hasn't gotten to this" he said.
"Why would you come here and accuse me of such?" She muttered pretending to be angry.
"Okay betty am sorry. I believe you" he said getting up and plancing his hands on her shoulders which made betty relax a bit.
"You are very beautiful...especially when you are angry" he teased.
"honestly. More beautiful than any girl have ever come across." He said stroking her cheek.
For a split second betty believed him.
" Hmmmm. Even alex?" She asked arching a brow.
" Especially alex." He said while betty scoffed.
"Yeah right. We all know you adore her."
"Not anymore" he said and drew her closer kissing her neck. Betty started to protest but stopped abruptly and closed her eyes and then sighed with pleasure.
Nosa knew he wasn't thinking with his head at that moment. He lifted her head and kissed her lips deeply. Slowly he reached for her robe and yanked it away from her shoulders letting it fall to her legs, then her lifted her up.
"Where is your bedroom?" He asked softly.
Betty pointed to the nearby door with eyes still closed. She was finally going to get what she had always wanted. Nosa was finally going to be hers and she would do every thing to keep him that way Everything was already working out well for her.......or was it?

"Doctor please tell me he is okay" chidera pleaded, she was sweating profusely obviously from running.
"Oh you are here. He is alright, but still unconscious. He needs a lot of rest now, so you would not be allowed to see him till tomorrow. But there is nothing to worry about." The doctor explained as chidera nodded with satisfaction and relief.
"Thank you doctor"
Alex stared at the girl as she conversed with the doctor who was she? And why was she asking about daniel's health?, she thought to herself.
The girl looked young but very beautiful, no there was noway daniel would be involved with......."You must be Alex" the girl interupted Alex's thoughts smiling up at Alex.
"Yes and you are?"
"His sister" the doctor explained "she had been calling daniels phone which was in his pocket since the time he was rushed in here. So I picked the call and directed her here."
"Oh". Alex sighed, thanking God in her mind. It was at that moment she noticed the same fair skin and mild resemblance.
"You are welcome." She added smiling to the preety girl.
"The doctor has explained what happened to me. Thank you so much for your help" chidera said while watching alex's smiling face. So this was the Alex her brother could not stop talking about. She really was beautiful, she must remember to commend her brother later.
"No problem. Its so nice to meet you, As the doctor have said, daniel would be fine. So you go home, rest and come tomorrow. Ok?" alex said while chidera nodded.
"And oh meet my cousin, nathan" she added pointed to nathan who was standing few inches away, gawking at them with fierce anger in his eyes.
Alex excused herself and followed the doctor to his office.
"You" they both said in unison.
"What a coincidence. We meet again huh?" Nathan said folding his arms and sending her a grim look.
"Yes. And its so unpleasant to see your face again" she replied folding her arms also. "So now what? You have been stalking me right. You knew I was going to be here so you came here too." She added angrily while nathan laughed.
" Oh don't flatter yourself doll face. If anything I would rather take a long walk to hell than stalk you" nathan said narrowing his eyes, he felt like giving her a payback slap.
"What arrogance!" Chidera hissed irritated.
"What? Are you angry? Please tell me no because you have no reason to be. I was the one who received a humiliating slap"
" Yeah a slap you deserve for touching my butt" she said in a low tone as a nurse passed by. She stared at the arrogant idi.ot that she had been thinking about for weeks. She had made a promise to herself that she would never fall in love again after her ex mercilessly broke her heart, but this I'd.iotic male standing in front of her won't get off her mind.
" It was a mistake!!" Nathan said raising his hands to the air.
"Yeah right that's what they all say" she replied rolling her eyes.
"Am waiting." Nathan muttered.
"For what?"
"For your apology" he replied.
"Keep on waiting. You go old" she blurted and turned to leave.
Nathan immediately grabbed her hand and stopped her.
"Even if you won't apologize, can you at least give me your number" he asked with a smirk.
"What for?"
"To call you and remind you everyday about your apology" he teased as she giggled.
Nathan immediately pushed his phone to her hand.
"Here. Type it". And surprisingly, she typed her number on his phone and handed it back to him.
"Thanks" nathan said smiling "so will you be here tomorrow?"
"Yes. Will you?"
"Ofcourse. See you tomorrow" he replied as he escorted her to the door.
He came back inside and sat down in the waiting room.
"Jackpot!" He said quietly with a smirk. He was already plotting a plan in his head.

After hours of passionate love making, Nosa stood up from betty'z bed in the morning and walked to the bathroom for a cold shower. He might have been drunk the previous night, but he knew exactly what he was doing. He came out after ten minutes and met betty already awake on the bed covering her unclad body with the blanket.
" Morning" she greeted blithely.
"Morning. How was last night?" He asked as he wore his trousers.
"Wonderful" betty replied giggling.
"Yeah" he said as he fastened the last button on his shirt.
"Betty you do know I care about you right" he asked leaning close to her and stroking her hair.
" I doubt that. Lie that you still don't have feelings for alex" she sighed sadly looking away.
"Hey comeon forget alex. You are much more better in every way" nosa said kissing her lips. "You are smart, beautiful and sexy, that's all I want.....and you were great last night" he added with a smirk while betty chuckled. He remembered thoughtfully that he never made love to Alex.
He sighed and stood from the bed."Am leaving now." He said as her grabbed his phone.
"Would I see you again?" Betty asked.
"Sure. I would see you tomorrow after work" he replied as he leaned to kiss her again. And then he dropped a huge amount of money on her dressing table.
"I would call you. Bye" he said and then strode out.
The realization of what she had done suddenly hit betty. She felt a tang of guilt. Nosa was her bestfriend's ex she shouldn't be doing this. No! I don't regret anything, afterall alex has broken up with him. He is single,and so am i...she thought to herself. She felt so lucky. She had a rich,handsome man to herself what more could she ask for?.
Betty giggled happily., as she stood up from the bed and moved to the shower. Suddenly her phone rang, It was chris.
"What does this pauper wants this early morning." She hissed and switched off her phone. She danced happily to the bathroom... She knew that happiness was already hers for the rest of her life.
Would she really be happy?....only time will tell.
