My main point is I took my car rx300 to gazzuzz yesterday, as I said in my formal post that the gear did not select from 3 to 4and the guy restore all what is faulty in it for me. Infact the guy is execellent he is a good specialist of auto mobile I will now advise u people on nairaland to try and visit the guy and he is also honest because I tested him yesterday and he score A1

Hello all, finally a Lexus rx330 owner, read from page1 some 2months back so am sort of familiar with a few things. So before I bought the car, I checked and saw the trip stood at 9.8mpg I kind of guessed I had a problem, but I decided to buy it anyway cause the car was clean and the engine was clean too. So I took it out for a spin, after a long drive I was able to get a max of 17.9mpg but I only reached that when i hit the express now inside the city it hovers around 9-10mpg I know that is not good, so I remembered a case here if some dude who had the same issue and he found the exhaust was the issue, so armed with that I went to see my own version of Kazeem who has been with me since my benz190 days so he could run a quick test on the exhaust and yes he confirmed the exhaust was had leakages and that the cartarat had been removed. So I said ok. But hold your horses, I have not touched anything, am a good student so i will first do a scan before any work will be done on the car. Will get back with codes and solutions. Thanks guys learnt a lot and gained the liver to get the Lexus from here.

I dont travel much , i stay in Abuja and need a very good AC and some respect from the car. (AM A LAWYER). I intend buying the car from Nigeria car lots if I can see a clean one(Better options are welcome). So I have navigation and was able to pair my phone via the blue tooth to it, so I am able to receive calls via the navigation system but I can't play music from my phone to it, maybe am wrong but I think I should be able to do that, any pointers.

What sensor does P2241 point to? O2 or A/F sensor?

Resources online say it is low current from A/F sensor. But my scanner is saying low current from O2 sensor.

Kinda confusing. I use a Creader 123 scanner.

The Air-Fuel ratio (A/F) sensor provides output voltage approximately equal to the existing air-fuel ratio.

The A/F sensor output voltage is used to provide feedback for the Engine Control Module (ECM) to control the air-fuel ratio.

With the A/F sensor output, the ECM can determine deviation from the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio and control proper injection time. If the A/F sensor is malfunctioning, the ECM is unable to accurately control air-fuel ratio.

The A/F sensor is equipped with a heater which heats the zirconia element. The heater is also controlled by the ECM. When the intake air volume is low (the temperature of the exhaust gas is low), current flows to the heater which heats the sensor to facilitate detection of accurate oxygen concentration.

The A/F sensor is a planar type. Compared to a conventional type, the sensor and heater portions are narrower. Because the heat of the heater is conducted through the alumina to zirconia (of the sensor portion), sensor activation is accelerated.

The code is output when there is an open or short in the A/F sensor circuit, or if A/F sensor output drops. To detect these problems, the voltage of the A/F sensor is monitored when turning the ignition switch to the ON position, and the admittance (admittance is an electrical term that indicates the ease of flow of current) is checked while driving. If the voltage of the A/F sensor is between 0.6 V and 4.5 V, it is considered normal. If the voltage is outside of the specified range, or the admittance is less than the standard value, the ECM will determine that there is a malfunction in the A/F sensor. Long story short change the A/F sensor facing the radiator(bank2 sensor 1) toks 8-10k new 28-30k.

A/F sensors are all special types of o2 sensors the name is interchangeble.
