alutacontinua: Apparently, our sisters don't wanna talk!
But as for me, i don't do regret in life.
Any decision I make willingly, without a gun pointed to my head, I make because I want to and i'm ready to live with it for the rest of my life with no regrets whatsoever.

In other words, the hymen is not there. wink

I Personally Do Not See Virginity as A Big Thingy, It Boost One Dignity But Doesn't mean the Person is a Saint!

We all Sin in Different ways!

Agreed. I'm so not a saint. Lamentably though I think virgins tend to be seen as saintly, naïve or scared I think this' dickish: the idea of having sex as an experience, to boost my confidence or to be 'normal' doesn't sit well with me.

Oh, I guess the simplest answer is religion. Dunno anyone whose choices aren't based on their beliefs or "disbeliefs", as the case may be. smiley

Personal choice without respect to religion is an option RARELY considered, since for the most part, I think, people are virgins due to teaching involving religious doctrine.

Do you know of any choice people make irrespective of their religious/irreligious persuasions? Any one at all?

Nope. I will never regret my first time. Lost my virginity to this hot Syrian chick on the beach where we got caught by a group of old British women on vacation. She gave BJs like a pornstar_. One of the best nights of my life. cheesy

Majority of Nigerian Christians make most of their decisions irrespective of their religious persuations. They only remember to be Christians in church and in word, rarely in deed.

Persuation ~ influence...so you are only buttressing my point, that their professed religion does not influence their choices when it comes right down to it.

I wasn't. smiley

Religious/irreligious persuasions are simply what you hold to be true regardless of what you confess that you hold to be true. It means that I act essentially according to what I truly believe not what I want people to think that I believe.

Therefore, a guy who goes to church and puts up a religious front is not necessarily persuaded that Christianity is true. That is only what he professes. His actions show what he truly believes. Nobody can go contrary to what they truly beneath all the talk believe.

If I sleep around and Christianity says that I shouldn't, then I'm not persuaded that Christianity is correct. I am persuaded instead that I should. Do you get me now?

Ihedinobi: Religious/irreligious persuations are simply what you hold to be true regardless of what you confess you hold to be true
You have a point; But when it comes to religion, a person's religious persuation is equivalent to whatever religion he professes.
Ihedinobi: Therefore a guy who goes to church and puts up a religious front is not neccessarily persuaded that christianity is true, That is only what he professes.

I could argue that he is persuaded that christianity is true but that he is not true to his religion (whilst also asking, could a person who "puts up a religious front" be called a christian?). Hence he makes his decisions irrespective of his religious persuations.
Ihedinobi: Nobody can go contrary to what they truly beneath all the talk believe
A very fallacious statement smiley A person might go contrary to his beliefs for a lot of reasons An example, "Thou shall not steal" is one of the basic tenets of a religion. I'm on the verge of dying of a disease and I have no money to buy drugs. If i have the strength of character, I would rather die than steal drugs and/or money. However if i was weak willed, survival at all costs kicks in and although I strongly believe I shouldnt be stealing, I dont want to die so i steal.I know it is wrong, I believe it is wrong and yet I do it. Same with sex, my hormones are raging, my body is screaming yes!, I know and believe that I should be saying No, but do not have the strength of character , hence I give in, i have sex. Afterwards guilt floods in and bla bla...Are you saying that I really do not believe beneath all the talk just because in a moment of weakness, I gave in to temptation? because if you are, then I'm saying that a person can believe (and most people do) but when it comes right down to it, (crunch time!) They still make decisions that is contrary to what they truly believe and this happens all the times in both grievious situations and in situations with levity.

Ok! grin Once I see expressions like "fallacious statement", I know that someone wants a no-holds barred philosophical engagement. E don be na! grin grin

Fine. What you're insisting on essentially is that one can believe something and still contradict it with one's actions, no? You are thus offering other basis for.which we do what we do besides deep-seated, not instantaneous (that is, on-off) beliefs. What other basis are there?

As for what I'm saying, it is that a real belief, or disbelief arguably, dictates your moment-to-moment deeds. It is by what you do, especially in a moment of crisis, that we know what people really believe or not believe.

Now tell me why else I would do any given thing besides the fact that what I believe agrees with it.

keeping your virginity till the day of your marriage will give you more respect than loosing it: think of this we man are very funny if we cheat on woman and we are cut, next thing we say to the woman is "am i the first time in your life" meaning am i the one who disvirgin you" then it turn to another thing.

So many things shape who and what we become like religion and culture. But personally like P- square sang, its also a choice. Do you wanna tell me all pastors/imam daughters are virgins, Hell No. So that tells you its a choice.

And come to think of it, as a lady or a guy, u give up your virginity to a guy or lady maybe cos u wanna show u love them, and u dont wanna let them go but they eventually do and go Bleep some bitches out there again and again until they are ready to settle down.

So if you are still intact wink, Kudos to you, keep it up for the right person like Tubaba sang, and if you lost urs to some useless niggurs, you dont have to keep testing the waters with your feet, cos it aint worth it, it will just reduce you to a bag of trash.

There are good guyz and ladies out there waitng for someone special like you.

It pays to wait, I dont give a Bleep what the world thinks about me still a virgin at 26.
