Ikpewe: 25 years old man

We finally have a genuinely young team yet people still talk like this... He looks 15, he is not a professional and he passed an mri test. Does he have to now show you his birth certificate?

Ridiculous!!!

Mikel and Ogbuke Obasi are the only players I know from the 2003 U-17 team who still have an active football career.

Noted. I wonder why he hasn't been able to break into the Super eagles yet. I know he played at the 2008 olympics.

Yeah. I actually tried to list all those that played for the Golden Eaglets and went on to have long and distinguished careers with the Super Eagles or in Europe.

Nduka Ugbade played for the Golden Eaglets (China 85), Flying Eagles and Super Eagles (he would have been the first person to play in all levels of FIFA World Cup, ie u17, u21 and senior world cup, if Westerhof had picked him for USA 94). He also won gold at Tunisia 94.

Celestine Babayaro played at u17, captained the u23 to Sydney 2000, won gold in Atlanta 96 and played at the 1998 world cup. He also won many titles with Chelsea FC.

Jonathan Akpoborie played at u17 (China 85) and u21 levels and also played for the Super Eagles. He won many titles with Stuttgart FC and was one of the highest goal scorers in Europe in 1997.

Nwankwo Kanu played at Japan 93, captained the Dream Team to Olympic gold in 96, played at the 98 and 2002 world cups and won many titles with Ajax, Inter Milan and Arsenal.

Mikel Obi played u17 in 2003, u21 in 2005, won the nations cup in 2013 and has won many titles with Chelsea.

These players have won many titles and played for Nigeria for around 10 years.

So Argentina drawing Canada, same as Iran and Austria. Canada and Iran are tied with 3 points from 3 matches and 0 GD. Canada occupies 2nd position now, dunno how they'll sort it out, the 15 teams in Round of 16: Brazil, Honduras, CIV, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Tunisia, Slovakia, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Russia, Argentina, Nigeria, Sweden and Mexico. Between Canada and Iran one has to go, either one who leaves will be bad cos they both deserve that spot

you dey mind? Tunisia's 2nd choice GK plays for Esperance as 2nd choice goalie. An Iraqi player plays for the senior team of an Iraqi club and even played in Kurdistan's league last season. Brazilian players play in the first teams at Brazilian clubs, if na our boys they'll say they're overaged hence their NPL spots

This is the 3rd consecutive time that Nigeria would win a group at the U-17 world cup, following similar feats in 2007 and 2009.
Nigeria didn't qualify for the 2011 edition.

Abi o. What a coincidence that we'll be playing two neighbors consecutively.

Who knows, we may also play against Iran at next year's world cup.

If Nigeria defeats Iran, we'll play the winner of the Uruguay v Slovakia match.

Uruguay beat New Zealand 7-0 in their first match.

should we be scared? EVERYBODY beat New Zealand. Let's see how they play against Slovakia, the likes of Brazil and Japan seem more dangerous for now

oh please! Uruguay got a lucky draw when they played CIV, they almost lost. New Zealand is the only team to exit the tournament without a goal, breaking the last record of longest consecutive minutes without scoring. We played tougher teams, our group was the best, even our 3rd place was the best of the lot.
