The deviation is a symptom of the disease eating them up - licentiousness, freedom without control, homosexuality! Gay lifestyle is actually going to take over America and will lead to their eventual collapse and breakup like the former soviet union. It will be some parts of the country that will recover themselves much, much later.

Dude, I sincerely advised you to stick to what you know. I'm no expert on American economy or the "GAY" topic, but equating both is disturbing. America isn't flourishing because of greed and corruption, sexuality is one of several social issues, however, this isn't related to America's economy. Part of the issues stagnating the U.S. Growth is

Domestic economic policies - on this issue, you have tax laws, unemployment wages, corporate greed, and what not. On the economic and fiscal side, a MAJOR blow to the U.S. is her debt, managing her debt comes with a stiff price, such that it threatens the global economy. Prime example, the U.S. lost more than $30billion in revenues and an estimated $100+billion in economic added value during the 17days shutdown. How do you expect to make up for that?

Foreign polices and global dominance - on this issue, the U.S. has lost credibility at least, fighting three wars, plus trying to be world police, plus their policies and how it affects other nations has direct consequences on the U.S. $$$. When the U.S. made a move against Syria, Russia countered, well guess what? The U.S. $$$ took a hit, and guess who's directly affected by such actions? The U.S. Government and her citizens. Believe it or not, U.S. Foreign policies have some sought of effect on her citizens.

Anyway, I said I won't argue this, believe what you want.

interesting, this comment seems to have flawed the whole argument about the existence of christianity

Equal opportunity is what it says in the dictionary.

Why should they recognise it?

What makes the stiff penalty absurd? Would you have preferred 2 years? Or 5 years or what?

So if we're to go by the "dictionary definition",

the policy of treating employees and others without discrimination, esp. on the basis of their sex, race, or age.

So please, how will a nation like Nigeria build a foundation on the basis of discrimination based on "SEX"?

If Nigerian govt hadn't recognize homosexuality, they wouldn't have passed a law barring it. Recognition doesn't have to be positive, it can also be negative. I recognize U.S. is at war, it doesn't mean I support it. On the same issue of homosexuality, when the U.S. Govt declined to defend DOMA, Americans including Congressional Republicans recognized the U.S. Govt position, however, it doesn't mean they accepted it. Rather they gathered together and hired private law firm to defend the DOMA.

14 years jail term reeks of discrimination, how can you preach "being equal', when such laws are existent? What supreme law justifies "sex activity' as a crime? Jail term are for criminals, so how does same sex activity equal being a criminal?

Discrimination?

Nigeria is not discriminating.

They are criminalising.

That is like a por-n producer claiming laws "discriminate" on his work, he has a right to equality with other movie producers.

Don't try and use all these pro-homosexual dysphemism you have been brainwashed with with me.

It is not discrimination, it is criminalisation.

vire: Well i am not a supporter of same sex marriage but how long they can hold on is the problem..Nigerians may not support it now but how long can this opposition hold.A lot of the younger generation is accepting homosexuality and soon the tides will change..The western Nations have the money and Media to propagate same sex ideologies and trust me Nigeria will be the new heaven for all these propaganda...every movie, song, news and sitcoms will feature a scene to help show that homosexuality should be accepted.. There is a way of science whereby if you keep reading or seeing a particular thing for a long time it becomes the norm....we were a nation where going nude was a taboo but now its the new way to define sexy

Ttue talk ! Even straight porn sites put in gay porn attimes. That habit has steadily increased over the years though it's still minimal.

Nigeria isn't discriminating but criminalizing? I dey hear you... Carry go

As much as Nigeria has power to define what's "criminal", in your view, taking one part of "sexuality" is criminal? I dey hear you... Carry go

Anyway, U.S. forbids polygamy, so why can't Nigeria forbid homosexuality? To each their own right? Like I said, jail sentence is absurd...I'm done.

Not on some moronic funky movement of progressive-wannabes based on propaganda brainwash.

Good point.

The US also does not "discriminate" against paedophilia but it sure criminalises it.

I've never seen American female citizens clamouring for Polygamy though. Else I'm sure they would have given it a thought.

So what the females want is what matters?

A sane and finger-pointing society does not have to have people clamouring for something before they apply it.

You just have to have a set of values and rules which you apply consistently on all issues.

Although that's a topic for another day, but you're right. However, because they don't clamor doesn't mean the U.S. should criminalize it. The Amish practice polygamy (I stand to be corrected though) as well as underage marriage but underage marriage AND sex I believe is a CRIME in the U.S.

Bottom line, belief differ from nation to nation, I just think that like U.S. Laws, Nigerian law is no different.

Yes, I think what the females want matters here. They are the ones who have to deal with other "competitors" in the marriage. And in this present age, how many women do you think would want such a marriage?

The men are the ones who benefit, hence they're mostly the ones clamouring for it.

So going by your reasoning, would you suggest Nigeria becomes completely morally decadent and become value/tradition bankrupt? All because there are already high levels of corruption in the country? Okponu !!! You must be a closet gay*gay.... Next stage of the so called "civilized" cultures would be to legalize Human and animal unions!
