Yoruba people should know that their mob attack against Igbo ministers (Okonjo Iweala, Stella Oduah, Allison Madueke, Stella Otteh) will no longer be tolerated!

If Mrs Stella Oduah financially enriched herself through cars bought by NCAA, provide the evidence and if not, LEAVE HER ALONE to do her job!

It is not a crime to be Igbo in Nigeria!

cjrane:

Residents of Owerri, the Imo state capital today took to the streets to protest what they described as an unfair judgement on the issue of the purchase of two armoured vehicles by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

While dismissing the allegation of corruption against the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, they insisted that the Minister should be appreciated for what she has done in the industry.

It will be recalled that the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah defended the purchase of two armoured vehicles by the NCAA after the President queried the purchase of the vehicles.

She insisted that the procurement of the two armoured BMW cars at the cost of N255 million followed due process.

According to the minister, provision was made in the 2013 budget for the procurement of the vehicles along with other specialised equipment, to complement or replace obsolete ones.

Part of Ms. Oduah’s response, says “towards the effective implementation of its statutory regulatory responsibilities, it is imperative that the NCAA is fully equipped with highly specialised tools and facilities, including adequate operational vehicles to cover all 22 national airports and over 400 airstrips.”

In addition to querying the minister, the presidency also set up a three-man administrative panel to investigate the purchase of the armoured cars.

The panel was given two weeks to submit its findings.

With the minister’s reaction, a lot may be uncovered, as already the House of Representatives has also mandated its committee on aviation to investigate the controversy surrounding the purchase of the vehicles by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) which are said to be for the Minister, as members of the committee of aviation said the committee had not approved that expenditure in the agency’s budget.

The Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Fola Akinkuotu also reacted to media reports on the circumstances surrounding the procurement of two BMW 760 LI armoured series cars by the agency after the purchase began generating so many reactions from groups and Nigerians alike.

The NCAA D.G. stated that the cars are operational vehicles used in the varied operations of the NCAA including transporting the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah and aviation-related foreign dignitaries.

He also said the purchase of the two cars which cost N255m followed due process and the NCAA remains focused on enforcing standards and promoting safety in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Our real problem in Nigeria is not about the leaders but we the followers. What is Igbo in this? did Stella Odua stole igbo money or was alleged to have taken what belongs to the igbos but Nigeria as a whole. Ordinarily, in a developed country she would have resigned by now. I am so sorry for this country because we are sitting on a keg of powder little time now, it will explodes.

Nice one from Imo youth, complementing that of the Enugu youth earlier. Efforts to frustrate the reformer - Stella Oduah, from office will not be taken lightly.

Those calling for her head must follow due process. Stop the witch-hunt!

#Stella Stays!

ONWARD TOWARDS REGIONALISM OR OUTRIGHT PARTITION.
like I said before, let every region control her own aviation ministry.
If they like ,Stella odua can control SE .
The SS ,SW and the north can control theirs respective aviation sector too.
THE FACT REMAIN THAT THE SW has nothing to lose as we easily dominated the core routes US,canada,Australia,UK .
Add to this the regular movement of pilgrims, jewelry and textile merchant to the middle east .
Lastly the potential benefits from increased tourism as a result of improved security that will ensue.

While you are at it, Tinubu robs you of your resources everyday and worse still makes you pay to get it back. There is no better slavery than one in which the slave is a willing accomplice. Keep slaving.

Dominate core routes ni dominate core routes ko.

Just a piece of info for you:
Enugu airport alone flies more passengers than all the airports in the 5 states of the south west put together.
Warri Airport the same thing.
Benin Airport, the same thing.
Calabar Airport, the same thing.
Uyo Airport, the same thing.
Owerri Airport, the same thing.
The new Asaba Airport, the same thing.
Port Harcourt Airport, the same thing!

These airports and Abuja account for 90% of all the flights landing in Lagos. The rest of the country(SW, NE, NC and NW) provide the rest 10%

Check the facts: http://www.faannigeria.org/documents/statistics/2012-Annual%20Traffic%20Report_first%20half.xlsx

That is each and every one of these 8 airports, fly more passengers than the airports serving the entire 5 states of the south west with a population of over 50 million. Infact, add Kwara with Ilorin Airport to it and the statistics stay same.

Dominate routes ni, dominate routes ko. Please dominate the local routes first before you dominate international you hear.

Re: Imo Residents Protest In Support Of Oduah by Nobody: 9:41pm On Oct 27, 2013
That's a good one.next should be abia and ebonyi youths protest in support of stella odua.they never told us that money was diverted to foreign account, neither are they able to prove any wrong doing on the part of the minister by purchasing official cars, all they want is for Igbo woman to leave so that they can lobby for fani kayode to replace her.these cronically tribalistic yorubas think this is the seventies when they had 100 percent control of the media and people just read their lies and propoganda hook, line and sinker without asking questions.an average easterner knows that newspapers such as punch, the nation, leadership, daily trust are sectional propoganda newspapers whose information and news should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Mr. fence sitter, what is not tribal about the noise over the purchase of mere two BMW by the NCAA for ministry of aviation and not for Stella Oduah? Can you point out an iota of fraud committed by Stella Oduah with the purchase of the two BMW cars?

Where were the loudmouthed ingrates when the Nigerian Airways was corruptively ran aground by the Yoruba people

Most southerners are blinded to reality and futuristic probabilities. Those airports in the northern region of Nigeria will be easily transformed into military use in case of war that will follow disintegration of Nigeria.

You just hit the nail on the head.I remember early this year kano state govt sent some of their kano university engineering graduands(about 100) to the middle east on pilot/aviation courses but many in the south simply ignored those who came out to say the northerners were preparing for war.the truth is that core northerners believe they own this nation so when anyone wants to change the status quo of unitary system of govt to federalism or breakup of nigeria, they feel they can fight and defeat those who may want to change the system which favours them.

Just imagine if these ppl get the presidency, we go hear word at all so?
Does that mean that if anyone dare to criticise (their) president irrespective whether wrong or right, na so so dem go flood the streets with their rent-a-crowd of demonstrators.
Its increasingly obvious that these ppl are politically naive, crude and immature - its no wonder that they cannot to make stable allies nor loved by most.

Then Owelle is a fool and supporting stealing. This was exactly what led to Ironsi's death and massive killing of Igbos. If your sister is wrong, give her the punishment she deserves. If Ironsi hurriedly judged Nzeogwu et al and executed them as required by law without sentiments, there would not have been any war in the 1st place.

old loser hiding out in the West while espousing corrupt practices in his own home, why don't u spend $10 of govt money without authorization and tell me what will happen to your life out here. I'm pretty sure you remember when Americans decided to vote for their first foreign born mayor in East Colombus, who did they chose? An Igbo man! What did he do? Started asking for bribes before signing contracts. Where did he end up? Federal Prison in Ohio and West Virginia for almost 10yrs! Over how much?! Less money than would've made any headlines in corruption loving Nigeria. You're just a deceitful, and hopeless human being and I feel sorry for the children you've helped raised because there's no doubt in my mind uve transferred all the evil in ur heart to them. Hopefully, their mom was smart enough to ignore whatever dowry u must've paid to the village council and fled with the kids so u won't be able to influence them with ur madness. If Stella Oduah was out here, tell me how she'd escape a minimum of 30yrs in Federal Prison for this obvious act of financial treason against the state? But, useless old men like you want to sit where there's law and order, but promote disorderliness in ur ancestral home.
