@nnaiah some of the items listed, especially under consulting(industry practices and change management), I can relate with as I had issues with a client recently relating to these. Another is End user Training. At any clienrt site, the deployed system is as good as the end users says it is, beacuse they are the ones who get to interact with the system the most. And once the users are unwilling to adapt to the new system, due to their long relationship with their flawed (my view) but dependable (their views) legacy system that gave them ways to cut corners. Red flag, so expect to put in extra resources for training and maybe GO LIVE READINESS. @the_cia congratulations, wishing you a rewarding career in a your chosen field . I can assure you most of the "mentors" still follow this thread, but may not have had reasons to comment. |

Thanks Nnaiah, im gonna be the one learning from u boss....coz i'm a trainee learning on the job ohh. This thread spurred my interest and i was lucky enough to get this opening as an Trainee Functional Consultant, though i'm coming from a Business Process background in IT. Im female btw. Good to have u guys all on board. Jan 6th...First Day at work ohh!!!!. Thank u Baba God....... Ambience: The ambience of the office is on point, though very quiet but beutiful and clean. Im a reserved and quiet person and hence love to have a little noise around me. Work space is also tidy. Colleagues: Mostly babes and quiet just like me.....but i will cope sha. One is a BASIS person and the other HR. I'm yet to meet the FICO, MM and SD pple. The Work Itself: Ive received certification materials from them and the day begins with watching videos on youtube on SAP HR. Ive been given access to the live environment also. I think im happy and sad at the same time. Miss my old colleagues..happy about the new experience. I can be termed a cry cry baby...but the emotions are under check this morning. Ill keep u posted on how the day goes. Lest i forget..the internet is awesome too....i jus love fast internet..dont blame me ohh |

Jan 6th...First Day at work ohh!!!!. Thank u Baba God....... Ambience: The ambience of the office is on point, though very quiet but beutiful and clean. Im a reserved and quiet person and hence love to have a little noise around me. Work space is also tidy. Colleagues: Mostly babes and quiet just like me.....but i will cope sha. One is a BASIS person and the other HR. I'm yet to meet the FICO, MM and SD pple. T[b]he Work Itself[/b]: Ive received certification materials from them and the day begins with watching videos on youtube on SAP HR. Ive been given access to the live environment also. I think im happy and sad at the same time. Miss my old colleagues..happy about the new experience. I can be termed a cry cry baby...but the emotions are under check this morning. Hi all, This should be one of the best threads on Nairaland that i have read so far. A big thanks to all who have taken their time to detail the usefulness of the SAP Certification but the pros and the cons. I happen to be doing my master's degree at the a german university and I discovered that they have this erp4students which comes at a very cheap rate. I have registered for two of the modules (SAP/ERP TERP10 as well as the Introduction to ABAP Programming). I strongly believe that the SAP skills would be in High Demand in Nigeria in the nearest future as more companies are gradually implementing it. I wish I had stumbled upon this thread long time ago as i believe that i would have gone far by now in terms of getting certified as the certification is really cheap for students. |

The Contacts I made on this thread helped me launch my SAP Career. Some came here to sell, while majority of the Gurus came to impart Knowledge and inspire people. I was one of those imparted . I Did my Certification in ABAP back in 2012 through self study. And it took me 2 years to a day to have my breakthrough , a breakthrough I am enjoying to the fullest . Advice to those seeking to have a career in SAP: 1. Networking, its very important . 2. You don't have to clear your bank account to get certified . 3. If you are certified, then it only gets your through the door most times. It rarely counts in the field . So know your module. 4. Don't always expect free materials from gurus, but take the hints and advice they may give seriously. I found out that some actually test your level of seriousness when they say, for example, go to this URL and search for the material . 5. Above all, don't choose a module for the expected reward, choose it for the love and enthusiasm you have for it. It will make the tough days and situations enjoyable . A big thank you to the gurus on these threads. Too numerous to mention. One actually took me under his wings and gave me so many contacts.
