For a start, let's know your year model of Exterra so we can have an idea of the type of Engine you are running.

Then lets know if there are any issues with the vehicle. Some with the guide you receive online you can ensure that the worst trained mechanic can handle. This step is very important. Because personally I only work for owners who can give me good history (soundings/feelings from problem, When problem started, suddenly or after previous repair etc).

Then for mechanic. There is one in port-harcourt.

thanks...its a 2007 model.....am experiencing a gear problem.....ie if i want to trotle it will be draging or moving slow......or better still when i trotle my engine will be revolving high but the car will be moving very slow......

Probably your vehicle speed sensor. Any SES light?

Ok I believe you have a VG 35 or 40 engine. Same as in '05 Pathfinder.

Your check engine light is on. Please scan and post the codes.

Also any previous repair attempts on this problem? lets know.

Seems your transmission has failed!
Nissan Xterra's (2005-upwards) have a faulty radiator, whereby; the coolant mixes with the transmission oil, which damages the transmission.
I suspect that your beloved machine has suffered the same dreaded fate...it's sad really!
I think the only remedy is to change the transmission.
You can google: Nissan Xterra recalls and problems.
It's always adviceable to do research on car brands before purchasing...these problems are real!

@Gluck4cars. I also have the same problem with my Pathfinder 05. Approx, like how much does the Transmission cost. I need to fix asap. I've wasted money chasing other things from Propeller etc. I'll appreciate your response asap.
