As a Christian, I read the bible a lot and I have a firm believe that most of the writings in the bible was actually inspired by God. Our Islam brothers and friends also believes that the Holy Koran was also inspired by God. However, I belong to that school of thought that allows rational thinking and reflection. This question goes to fellow Christians, Islams and all rational thinking human. Did God actually stopped writing, inspiring and commanding after the writings of these two great books?

The quran is just an Arabic interpretation of the bible, repackaged with some Arabc culture dictated by the Prophet.

Thanks for your comment. I've read the book of mormon and there is nothing really much different from the bible and koran. although it only focused on early christian life.

Holy Books are inspired.. the only case we learned where God actually wrote were the 10 or 11 commandments and the writing on the wall warning king nebu. All the rest were written by men where had poor record-keeping and poor history recounting skills. The Bible is as inaccurate about events in history as they are in philosophy.
Man is driven by ideals, his purpose is easily corrupted by greed, wickedness, selfishness, pride, revenge etc. This is why the 2 most popular holy books claim Love but have inspired deep lasting hatred of humanity through the ages

God gave His revelations to mankind througout history. But the most popular of them are:
1. The Torah given to Moses, 2. The Gospel given to Jesus and 3. The Quran given to Muhammad. 1&2 are no longer available in their original forms, either they are completely lost or tempered with by man to the extent that the scriptures have turned into a mixture of truth and falsehood. This is why God in His infinite Mercy sent the Quran, the 'Final Testament' to confirm the truth contained in the previous revelations and to abrogate them. Some people wrongly claim that the Quran is copied from the Bible because of their similarities. This is either ignorance or deliberate misrepresentation of facts, because the similarities are simply due to the fact that all of them came from the same source - Almighty God. The funny thing is even atheists who are quick to criticize christians have agreed with the christians' claim, that the Quran was copied from the Bible! There was no way prophet Muhammad could have copy the Bible. He was illiterate, he never read any Book before he was taught the Quran by Archangel Gabrail. There was no even any Arabic version of the Bible during his lifetime and he only spoke Arabic. The Jews and Christians of his time did not accuse him of copying their scriptures because they knew he could not do it. They always came to debate with him, asking him questions which they felt nobody can answer except a prophet of God. And he all answered them correctly, through this many of them converted to Islam. God did not reveal any other Book after the Quran. Anybody that claims he receives one is a liar.

The holy scriptures have been revealed. It was all about Jesus you see. Anyone who calls the bible irrelevant and accuses it of treachery is only foolishly spreading falsehood evident to all. If you read the bible, you'll see life lessons there. You'll see God-speak there. No other shows man how to have his sins forgiven.

From the beginning, it was about Jesus. In the end, it was about Jesus. When Jesus came and got salvation and showed man the judgement top come, the scriptures to (revealed was finished. Complete.)

There is no single contradiction in the bible. Them who think there is contradiction should open a new thread with the aim of innocently finding out and not foolish mockery.

Even the rise of muslims was prophesied in the bible. Was told of.

The prophecies come to pass and still come to pass. The word has been fulfilled in peoples lives.

The revealed words have been complete sir. They started and ended with Jesus. At the end when Jesus showed man the future, it was closed. That was it.

Please do not pride yourself in "being smart and capable of rational thought" and think youy're better than others or smarter than God. Some people have done that and have shown their foolishness in their lives and even the words they speak to justify their twisted made up views.

If you're a real christian, you'll realize that the bible was a closed book, opened up to you when you were saved. As we read, God himself, the author, teaches us and reveals to us all truth. And if you truly are a christian, you wouldn't ve trying to debunk God because of unanswered questions, because you'd know him personally. How can you be trying to debunk a person you know?

You'll rather go to him, and have your questions answered.

If the Bible and Quran are the word of god then I for one am not impressed. I have many books on my shelf that are more concise, more consistent, better organized, better expressed and with fewer contradictions and errors than the aforementioned 'holy books'.

In his now-lost book "The Prophets' Fraudulent Tricks", one of my Persian heroes, doctor Muhammad al-Razi (854-925 AD) said, regarding the Quran (but could apply to the Bible as well):

"You claim that the evidentiary miracle is present and available, namely, the Quran. You say: "Whoever denies it, let him produce a similar one." Indeed, we shall produce a thousand similar, from the works of rhetoricians, eloquent speakers and valiant poets, which are more appropriately phrased and state the issues more succinctly. They convey the meaning better and their rhymed prose is in better meter. … By God what you say astonishes us! You are talking about a work which recounts ancient myths, and which at the same time is full of contradictions and does not contain any useful information or explanation. Then you say: "Produce something like it"‽

And the Arab philosopher Abul al-Ma'arri (973-1058) wrote:

"Do not suppose the statements of the prophets to be true; they are all fabrications. Men lived comfortably till they came and spoiled life. The sacred books are only such a set of idle tales as any age could have and indeed did actually produce."
