Its not so easy getting into the oil industry my broda... it is highly competitive..
you'd have an edge after you have your masters in view (meaning u are not expected to have completed your Msc before getting the attention of some recruitment officers. once you don start, u r good to go) just ensure you state it inside ur resume that ur msc is currently in view. it also depends on what u r mastering. servicing coys look out of for geologist, geophysicist, petroleum/reservoir/production engineers etc.

another trick asides an msc for getting in, is if u r willing to come in sitting on the lowest level. probably as trainee or an intern with little or no pay. many servicing coys dey like such pple. but the advantage is dat u'd b exposed, networked and be able to get as much experience as u can, update ur resume, den move on from there... depending on d level of expertise, other coys will be begging for u to join dem..

wow thank u very much. though am based in lagos and unilag hav only one option under chemical engineering, which is masters in process engineering, so dats wat i applied for. do u know coys dat do free intern so i can apply in lagos?

just use google to search for indigenous oil n gas coys.. head to ur contact page... get their email.. den send dem a request dat u wana get in as an intern.. wait for a response... if u are chanced, visit the coy to drop ur letter addressed to the HR manager... dat will b much faster.
