@op, you have gotten enough advices, I need not say more. to stay in Abuja town like Garki, wuse, utako, jabi, Apo, maitama, asokoro etc which is like ikeja, maryland, lekki, ogba, apapa, just name it. You should hold your 400k-800k for a single room selfcontain.(boysquarter). Else go outside town. * transportation and feeding is fair. Abuja taxis are cheap, you can charter taxis for as low as N300 depends on the distance. That's because they have good roads and less traffic. They have commercial buses too called the elrufai buses (brt).very affordable. * if you're certain you gat a job, I'll advice to come and take ur chance. You never know what God has in store. |

its an awesome place to live.maybe cause i grew up here.the town is expanding massively.so its looking good for business.though there are strict civil laws cause its a capital city but its paying off with its peace and quite.work life is what it should be here.social amenities is good.depends on your nature with money, if you can tightn up your purse alot till you hit it big, you'll do fine.the common misconception that you must have deep pockets is a lie.lagos might be everything but this town is one thing for sure... You can cope in Abuja and its land of opportunities,u maybe lucky to get a contract and Boom, thats it. U become a don but in d first few months,u have to study d environs. I live in Abuja Apo legislative quaters but I started in Kubwa before God blessed me through hardwork. So u CAN make it,if I made it. So I suggest u start from kubwa or karu or Durumi, those places,u can get cheap houses like bw 200~300k for self co and 400~500 for -bdrm flat. Goodluck |

I will advise you to stay back in Lagos, lag has higher opportunities. You have a level playing ground to make it in lag..That business you plan to do in abuja you can as well do in Lagos unless you are talking about stress in lag, then I will understand.dont take decision that you will live to regret cos in abuja you dey on your own,no body fit help you. My sister pays 1m for one bedroom flat in citec that is not even town, all her earnings goes to house rent when wt 800k you can get a Behind 3bedroom apartment in festac, maryland etc..lagos is better oooo unless you are already made then you can move to abuja to enjoy life..forget all these connection and meeting contact stories oooo unless you wan become gay 10 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Relocating To Abuja From Lagos by ladygogo: 9:26pm On Nov 12, 2013 |
foood is cheap in abuja and even cheaper in the outskirts. transportation isnt expensive. cabbing from wuse 11 to central area should be like 300 hundred now. yuo can nver get that in Lag. rent expenses na die. it is killing. Most people work for rent in abuja. It is ridiculous. If you plan on starting a family in the future, then you have to worry about school fees. School fees are outrageous and you dont have that many options. About opportunities- There are still more opportunities in LAG. Everything revolves around sharing of national cake in Abuja.. In summary you will pretty much be working for school fees and rent. |

1st.deolaw: Guy, stay back in Lagos. The rent alone will finish you before you even know it. Even the outskirts are getting pretty expensive. Let me ask you: what can you do to earn money in Abuja? There are no industries. Only government establishments and concerns owned by professional services (lawyers, doctors, builders) and those whose occupation center around the construction and real estate sector. What is your source of livelihood now? How do you intend to make money in Abuja? Abuja is all about packaging. You need to have a car to move around and to make an impression (if you want to source for contracts, big or small). Frankly, I do not know that you are prepared for such a move. 2 Likes 1 Share |

My advice to you is to visit Abuja regularly to see things for yourself instead of seeing it through other peoples perspective.I am really shocked that people are saying that transportation is expensive when the average taxi drop is just about 500 naira. 1 Like |

1st.deolaw: You need a car to live in Abuja, or frustration go kill you, its fucking massive!!.. The only expensive things in Abuja are accomodation and flexing, public transport is cheap (but stressful and difficult), food is almost same price with lagos.. and then depending on your area, light is almost 24/7,no need to be carrying keg to total every evening lol jus get an inverter, you may need it few times a week for just few minutes. You will love Abuja, clean, beautiful, classy, above all, sane. but get a car, its very important, no matter how small. I forgot, if u r a hustler, man stay in lagos ooo!! hustling no work for Abuja o!! excpt u wanna go n be selling in gsm village. |
