How Many Seconds Does Your Car Rise From 0 To 60 by Sunymoore(m): 7:46am On Nov 18, 2013
I found this interesting every time a car is rated. So I said to my self, let me try also with our local cars here, and What I got was 9 seconds. Then I concluded that it's not bad, since bugatti Veron is 2.5 seconds.
So is anybody curious here and also tried it, if so let's share the fun.

It depends on the car and its horsepower plus the level of torque..the fastest I have sprint from 0 to 60 is 5seconds, and the worst was about 20seconds..note that the 5seconds was with a bmw x6..still looking forward to sprint 0 to 100 in 3seconds (BMW x6 G typhoon) wish I had that large cash.

Wow! Your x6 is amazingly fassssstttt.
But about the typhoon I think only three copies are available now. Here is also what I got about it
0-100 km/h: 4,2s
• 0-200 km/h: < 13,0s

Yea the production is limited and the price is high, starts at about 800thousand usd (one hundred and twenty eight millon naira)..but the power is unmatched to so many cars.it has a horsepower of abt 725.wit 533pht..its a speed devil.

exactly what came to my mind too...
my cars are not rated in mph but km/h.
the best i sprinted to 100km/h from zero was 11.2s, 2.0l BMW 320i.
official stats stated 9.8s. Other factors like tyre condition, road surface, temperature etc may not have been right at the time I tested it.
but I did 0-100km/h in my 323ci in 7.6s, using a stopwatch...maybe not too accurate but it was the best accuracy level i arrived at.

0-100 km in 7.6s is outstanding, considering the factors we have at hand here. Did you watch top gear USA of recent? Mehn! I will wish my hands can be laid on that Veron

Yes! That car is just a Devil. Mehn!. But even with their smooth, free and straight road, the guy has to raise the car a bit, maybe is too low to handle the speed

Yeah. The car is just perfectly made, though they didn't test the handling and hard braking performance

I think i would have been able to shave at least, two-tenths off 7.6s attained, it takes skill to launch efficiently for maximum result with a manual transmission,RWD too. A better driver would have achieved in the low 7..

My fastest 0-62 mph with my cars is as follows:

2001 Audi S8 Quattro, 5-speed Tiptronic, 4.2 V8 2 x DOHC 40V, 360 hp, 430 Nm - 6.2 secs.
2005 Audi A8 Quattro, 6-speed Tiptronic, 4.2 V8 2 x DOHC 40V, 340 hp, 440 Nm - 6.3 secs.
1999 Audi Cabriolet FWD, 5-speed manual, 2.6 V6 2 x SOHC 12V, 150 hp, 225 Nm - 8.6 secs.
2008 BMW 120D M-Spor RWD, 6-speed manual, 2.0 I4 DOHC 16V, 174 hp, 350 Nm - 7.6 secs.
1996 Audi A4 Quattro, 6-speed manual, 4.2 V8 2 x DOHC 32V, 360 hp, 453 Nm - 5.2 secs.
1995 Audi A4 Quattro, 6-speed manual, 4.2 V8 2 x DOHC 32V, 388 hp, 512 Nm - not yet tested.
1987 Audi Coupe Quattro, 6-speed manual, 2.2 I5 DOHC 20V turbo, 426 hp, 411 Nm - 4.2 secs.
1995 Audi RS2 Avant Quattro, 6-speed manual, 2.2 I5 DOHC 20V turbo, 315 hp, 410 Nm - never tested.
1985 Toyota Celica Supra RWD, 5-speed manual, 2.8 I6 DOHC 24V, 178 hp, 287 Nm - never tested.
1986 Peugeot 505 STI RWD, 5-speed manual, 2.0 I4 SOHV 8V, 110 hp, 171 Nm - never tested.

All my tested cars were tested with Datron timing gear, rather than the speedo and a stopwatch, which would give very different results.

Siena, I would love to see you in the Top gear's "reasonably priced car", for real. I know the stop watch-Speedo timing would give a not too accurate result anyways, there are special timers used for used for this purpose...
