Lagos Dudes: The Beginning!! by alaafyn(m): 12:35am On Nov 20, 2013
“Bastards” the chief shouted with much disdain in his
voice. “Wait let me get my gun” he concluded with his
back turned towards us. We quickly gathered our bags and
cloths off the floor and fled the compound, it was a race
for life; adrenaline pumped in my system.
At last, we looked back and laughed………………………..
Six months ago I was a village boy, schooling and
hustling; my parents are dead. I lived with an uncle and
aunt who don’t care how I lived my life. I was coming
from farm one day when I saw Toyin’s mum in front of our
mud house; Toyin was my last girlfriend in our village.
She sat down wailing and cursing her self, her mum was
also cursing me.
That was the day I was waiting for, I entered my room
through the window, packed my secondary school
certificate and the cloths ‘corper debby’ bought for me.
‘Corper debby’ was a very endowed teacher, she was
posted to our village for her youth service corps. She was
a nymphomaniac, she initiated me to the world of
kumasutra; I was senior secondary school 1 (SS1).
Corps lodges was located beside my house, it was a
privilege for my Viewer spirit. She caught me when I was
peeping into their bathroom hole; I was led straight to her
room. That was the first time I tasted the apple. The
apple story lasted for a year, but during that period, she
taught me how to be a smart boy in both academics and
life issues, she was also extravagant in buying cloths.
I became the local champion until I impregnate
Toyin…………
“That chief na were” rusty said, still try to contain his
laughter
“Walahi, I swear” replied Mohammed; our aboki
Uchenna ‘rusty’ madueke was a very brilliant boy from a
poor Igbo family. He struggled throughout his primary and
secondary school days, using the money he earned to buy
books; he was the most brilliant student in his school at
that time. ‘Uche had a prospect of becoming a student of
university of Lagos, afterwards a medical doctor. He
thought his dream has come to pass when his uncle
came to the village and took him to Lagos, alas! He was
brought to Lagos to become a sales boy.
He ran away after one year…………….
Yusuf Mohammed was a complete Hausa boy from Borno,
Nigeria, his father was a member of an Islamic sect, he
was sent to the best school and he was highly intelligent.
He was trained to speak perfect English language; you
can hardly hear his slight intonation.
After secondary school, his father decided to send him to
Iraq for schooling and also to teach him in the art of war,
but Mo’ has a different plan, to be a successful
businessman. According to their code, any one who
refuses an over to fight for the cause will be killed.
Mohammed was the only son to carry on the cause for
the family, but due to his education and better
understanding, he fled.
Not long afterwards, his family was killed in his
place……………….
We met under the Oshodi Bridge.
I was trying to lay my head on my bag when I heard some
people arguing, argument like that could attract police, I
quickly grab my bag.
“What did you know about achimedes principles” a boy
said with a slight igbo intonation.
I was surprised, so I decided to join the argument. We
became friends afterwards. We hustled together
afterwards; sometimes we carry loads, act as ‘agbero’
and so on.
A month after we met, we saw a vacant board by an
advertising agent, we made a try………….
A week later, I became a sales boy, Mohammed; the gate
man and Uchenna became the house Akpan, house boy.
8% of our salary belong to our advertising agent.

“I’ll take the senior, you take the aburo” I said with a
smile
“You dey mad, why uno take the junior while I take the
senior? Uche said with a frown
I replied angrily, “e be like say were de your head, ema wo
oloriburuku yii oo, nobime give u d plan?
“I don turn your oloribuku abi?
“Just accept it like that” I smiled at him.
“What are you guys talking about? Mo’ asked. “It seems
am being left out” he concluded
“Google it” I answered him.
‘Uche and I bust out laughing…………….
Chief Bankole was our boss, he is businessman who owns
a fish farm, he is also into car dealership, his wife; Chief
Mrs. Bolatito owns a retail outlet, more or less like
shoprite, she employed me as a sales boy.
Busola and Bisola were the only daughters they had, they
aged 16 and 18 respectively, and personally they cannot
be considered as pretty girls but considering the
circumstances, we have to accept them. Bisola was
preparing for her A’ level examination, she helps her mum
in shop sometimes. Busola was in her final year in senior
secondary school, she seems to be the food type……..
Akpan (uchenna) was the houseboy and the kitchen
seems to be his favorite place……………………..
There are many workers working for my boss, mostly girls
and some man, but out the girls, only yemisi seems to be
my age mate, although she was older with a few months.
“Can I help you? I heard a very nice voice from behind, I
looked back, it was bisola; ugly girls do have nice voice.
Beaming out my best smile, “my name is Tunde Thomas,
am your mum new personal assistant”
“Ok” she turned
“What’s your name?
“Why would you wanna know my name?
“Incase you don’t know, am gonna be staying at your
place too, so it’s better if we get to know each other now”
I returned to what I was doing.
“Am your boss first daughter”
“So?
“I guess today is your first day here, but please always
address me with respect!” she said, her face looking
more uglier
“Is that all?
“Yes”
I turned back to what I was doing, she opened her mouth
to say something and then she turned and walks away.
A minute later, a very beautiful girl yemisi came to me
“Are you tunde?
“Yes”
“oga is calling you” she turned back to walk away
I called her “Yemisi”
She turned back and said “how did you know my name”
“It’s the will of God” I said turning towards our boss office
She was sitting down on a plastic chair in her mum’s
office, she looked up and hissed
“eku ise ma” I greeted my boss
“tunde tunde tunde”
“How many times did I call you? She looked me straight
in the eye
“3 times ma”
“Please respect my families; they are also your ‘oga’
here”
“Thanks ma”
“You can go now”
I decided to set my cards
“Bisola, am very sorry for my rudeness earlier, I hope you
can forgive me”
She smiled, shaking her head “so you know my name”
“Sound waves tends to surprise me with beautiful names
sometimes, your name has been on my frequency for a
longtime”
“Am sorry” I concluded bowing my head slightly and
headed for the door, I could see her surprised
countenance.

“Can you drive? My boss asked
“No, I have no parent or family to teach me” I said with
an actual sad voice
“Oh, I remember you told me you’re orphaned”
The journey home was uneventful…………………………..
***********************************************************
**********************
“dat gal na very good girl, nice and stubborn”
“You get luck oo, d sister get pride no be small matter” I
replied uchenna who seems to find the younger girl
interesting.
“She told me to teach her igbo food”
“wetin you con tell her”
“I gree” he replied with a smile
“How much?
“Am not collecting any money from her”
“Are you mad? He seems to be crazy, we needed the
money. “I know you are joking” I concluded with my fake
smile. Igbo’s are known for there love for me, they would
rather steal than beg!
“My friend, life is give and take, she will give me
something when am through”
“sha don’t fall in love”
“Ok, but…”
“No but” I shut him up before he could proceed.
Mohammed came in afterwards; he was looking clean and
composed as always. He seems to take his religion
diligently, I cannot remember the last time I visit church.
“Aboki, how mosque na?
“Don’t insult my religion” he replied with his English
I smiled “ino say you go change one day”
“We shall see” I replied and left the room for his post. Our
room was the security house by the main gate, we later
joined him.

“uchenna uchenna” the voice was shouting again, this
time the voice was wearing a bum short that seems to
accentuate the rest of her ugly body.
“And you talk say she ugly”
“She no fine reach my standard” I answered him off
minded.
“Is she beautiful” I thought aloud
“Yes” Mohammed replied
We both turned our head towards him; it seems our friend
is responding to hormones.
“’Uche, enter house I wan try something” uche did as he
was told
“Uche, Uc…” she shut her mouth up when she noticed us
“Yes, can we help you?
“Am looking for the new houseboy” I replied as fast as
possible, it seems she was expecting my question
“He is not a houseboy”
“Ok, please call him” it seems she is not interested in my
argument.
“Let me get him for you” Mohammed offered.
Am going to kill that boy someday…………………..
The day ended with a good food in our stomach; a 6 by 6
spring bed and good ventilation. The kind of life uche and
I have never tasted….

It was a fine Tuesday morning when we became friends;
she was carrying some books with her to the book
selves, she tripped and fell.
“Am sorry, are you ok?
“You are not the cause of my fall” she snapped. “But,
thanks” she forced a smile.
“Well, I think I am, I was staring at you from behind” I
smiled
“You’re mad, very rude boy”
“I had to take the blame for your fall” I replied politely
“Must you mention my ‘behind’?
“I was behind now na, what else will I look at?
“I don’t know for you oo” she replied and bend to gather
the books
“Let me help you” I offered
“No thanks” she declined.
We packed the books off the floor together and arranged it
on the shelf. I was about to take my live when she asked
me a question;
“What kind of job are you doing for oga?
I smiled “Am her personal assistant, we stay together and
eat together”
She was surprised and I decided to use the opportunity
“Any worker going on leave or travelling will have to
consult me first, although we use POS (point of sale) but
am also in charge of some monetary aspect of this
business” I bragged on the things I cannot do.
“You are my oga niyen oo” she smiled

Hehehehe... Alaafyn, ur story was good except 4 a few lapses.
1...lotz of typos n grammatical errors... Proof Reading prior 2 publishing would be in order.
2...ur plot denotes more of fiction than reality in chapter 2 especially "@ d point wer u v 2 apologize 2 d boss's daughter *flirting with her ryt in front of ur boss*... Dt scenario can neva be condoned in d real life naija setting.. #a wicked boss would v had u lashed mercilessly until ur arse began 2 sing in swahili... A merciful boss would v sent u packing b4 u put her teenage daughter in d family way#
Bottom line bro.... MAKE ME BELIEVE!
NIX storyline bro... I'm starting 2 enjoy maself
