It's situations like this that discourage me from giving alms. How can one identify those genuinely in need and these goddamned scamers

I have see this guy before on Ikorodu road. I use to wonder then who brings him around because he looks really blind. I also think his dressing would make him stand out from other beggars and it would make pple pity him more thereby giving him money.

I have seen him several times. In my opinion, I don't think he is fraudulent as he appears to be really blind. He uses walking stick sometimes.

ifyalways: Lol. Dem many for lagos with ridiculous stories like :
They are stranded.
They'll show u a doctors prescription and claim they need money for the last two drugs.
They were duped and need just bus fare to get back to Oshogbo or Ijebu.
They're going for an interview and their pocket was picked hence they need bus fare.

All na wash.

I met one today on my way to work. He was a man in his late or early 50s. Good looking, with nice attire. So I stoped and listened when he approached me, he said he is going to NNPC and that his car broked down, that he just found out he left his wallet at home and needed just 100 naira to take bike home. I quickly dipped my hand in my own wallet and gave him more than what he asked, because I believed him. But when I got to the office, I started ruminating over the whole thing and realised it was a scam. But why will a grown up man like that stoop soooo low for such lively hood? Because if I was in his shoes and such thing really happend to me, I will take a drop home, get my wallet and take the same cab back. Na wa om NAIJA sha
