GTX MAGNATEC® Motor Oil

FIND THE RIGHT OIL FOR YOUR ENGINE

Castrol GTX MAGNATEC®, a leading Castrol engine oil brand, is now available in the US. It has helped drivers to protect their engines for almost 20 years by delivering instant protection from the moment of start. The intelligent molecules in Castrol GTX MAGNATEC are specially formulated to cling to critical engine parts and to dramatically reduce engine wear.

UNSEEN DAMAGE THAT'S EATING AWAY AT YOUR ENGINE

Did you know that up to 75% of engine wear occurs during warm up? Most oils drain from critical engine parts when the engine is turned off and need time to reach the peak protection temperature when turned back on. And with most car trips lasting 20 minutes or less, engines are exposed to wear for most of the trip.

THE INTELLIGENT MOLECULES IN GTX MAGNATEC DEFY GRAVITY

The intelligent molecules in Castrol GTX MAGNATEC are what set it apart from other engine oils. These specialized molecular components cling to the engine throughout all driving conditions, even when the engine is off.

When the engine stops, oil drains back to the sump, but the intelligent molecules in Castrol GTX MAGNATEC don’t. They cling to critical engine parts like a magnet, providing an extra layer of protection from the start and throughout warm-up.

ONLY CASTROL GTX MAGNATEC IS UNIQUELY FORMULATED TO PROVIDE INSTANT PROTECTION FROM THE MOMENT OF START.

THE INTELLEGENT MOLECULES:

•Cling to critical engine parts when the oil drains down
•Add a layer of protection during warm-up and beyond
•Dramatically reduce engine wear
•Leave critical engine parts 4X smoother

CASTROL GTX MAGNATEC IS DEXOS LICENSED

Castrol GTX MAGNATEC 0W-20, 5W-20 and 5W-30 grades meets GM-dexos1 requirements

*As tested in the Sequence IVA Wear Test

CASTROL GTX MAGNATEC. INSTANT PROTECTION FROM THE MOMENT YOU START.

Castrol GTX MAGNATEC is available in the following grades: 0W-20 (Full Synthetic), 5W-20 (Full Synthetic), 5W-30 (Synthetic Blend), 10W-30 (Synthetic Blend)

5w30 is not full synthetic, it is synthetic blend. Take note
Re: Range Rover Sports Club by sooperrescue(m): 3:28am On Jan 29, 2017
Our reason for highlighting these oils and more to come is to ensure that your engine is not destroyed when using oils that are not capable of working effectively with the Range Rover Engine. It has been stated times without numbers that the oil is the major determinant to the success of the Range Rover Engines. Castrol brand of oils are specifically recommended for Range Rovers Engines ditto Mobil 1 USA and of late Penzoil platinum. But it not any Castrol that you see that is Castrol. The GTX Magnatec is full synthetic in 0w20 and 5w20. Any other that is 5w30 and 5w40 are synthetic blend and so does not fall into the category of full synthetic. The advanced full synthetic grades are the extended performance and the Castrol edge both in gold and black gallons. The other option is the Mobil 1Usa( not the local Mobil 1 oils sold locally) Those local brands have no business with the Range Rover and as such, if your mechanic uses it, drain it fast.
Finally, we have the engine and gear box for a 2010 Range Rover Sport for sale. The engine and the gear are in top shape. We can even install the engine and gear for you. Contact us for more information on 08098534267.

Hi Guys,

I found this group after numerous online search for a Landrover specialist mechanic. I bought a 2009 RRS sport November last year and I'm planning on purchasing LR3 in a few months. The challenge I have before my next purchase is to find a competent mechanic in Ikeja axis; any suggestions please?

Also are parts readily available locally for Landrover SUV?

Hi Cooldragon,

My case is unique in the sense that, I don't live in Nigeria; I visit every 3 months and as such my experience with the RRS is limited; however I must say the driving experience so far is breathtaking; this is coming from a guy who drives a 2010 Mercedes E350d coupe daily.

I have read alot about RRS faults so my aim is to preempt costly repairs as well as avert future disaster. Presently the vehicle is driven for a total of 5-10km every week pending my arrival and even when I'm in town I drive it when occasion demands. I have plans to replace some items in the vehicle wish are starting to sound and showing signs of wear and tire; with the info from this group I believe I have found a home full of guys with priceless knowledge..

Are they warming the car in your absence? That should not be. The wear and tear invreases if it is done in this method. All you need to do is to fill up your tank and remove the negative terminal of the battery. Lock the door and when you return to the country, just fit the terminal of the battery and you are good to go

Please, does this advice apply to all/most cars
There is an Benz ML 500 which is sparingly used, it's now problematic with one issues or the others

Ok I understand, nice car though and you are right.it has a lovely driving experience, what I am worried about is the wear and tear of parts but apart from that it's a lovely car that is good for our roads and I love the car you are using for your daily ride(Benz fan)

Yes. It Applies to all cars expecially the big engines. They don't want to be warmed up like 504

The car is driven for 3 km twice a week; it doesnt make sense keeping it ideal.

I'm sorry, hope I'm not too derailing.
Does disconnecting -ve terminal of a battery for a long time not weaken the battery?

Thanks

Get octane boosters
Hello, I just discovered this forum via internet search and I'm glad to be here. Well done for this great job you're doing in helping us all to use our Range Rovers better and longer.
About octane boosters, my little research seems to suggest that the BG44 is the only product 'approved' by Land Rover for this purpose. What are your thoughts/recommendations about this? Also, I hear that the so-called lifetime transmission oil will not really last for a lifetime in climes like ours here in Nigeria, and actually need to be changed at some point...do you agree with this?
Re: Range Rover Sports Club by sooperrescue(m): 12:46pm On Feb 06, 2017
Welcome. BG44 from what I could glean from Amazon is a fuel injector cleaner. The one we sell is the Johnsen 4688 Octane Booster. It boosts the fuel we have in Nigeria. As for the lifetime transmission fluid rule, even Range rover does not believe the claim and so it has to be changed once in a year. I tried it on mine and I have been doing so ever since and on the transmissions of my clients.

how many parts of your octane booster is mixed into 1 full tank of fuel ?

and what happens, d day i forget to add the octane booster ?
Re: Range Rover Sports Club by sooperrescue(m): 8:59pm On Feb 07, 2017
I normally recommend 2 bottles for every full tank and afterwards a bottle every fill up. The reason for that is to allow the Ecu to increase the performance of the engine when it detects that the Range is using premium unleaded fuel and it compensates with improved performance that you will notice when the sluggishness disappears and your oxygen sensors are revived. If you forget to use the booster today, you can use it tommorrow, abi?

What happened to all the Range rover sports which use to rock all nigerian roads? If anyone has seen a damaged rr sports somewhere for sale contact me, you'll have a comission when i buy it.
Re: Range Rover Sports Club by sooperrescue(m): 4:50am On Feb 19, 2017
They are still very much on the road. The ones that are parked somewhere have been hit by their owners decision to use low quality oil and as such the oil has destroyed their engines, overheating and all that stuff. Use the recommended oil and you will be glad you did.

Re: Range Rover Sports Club by sooperrescue(m): 1:45am On Feb 27, 2017
While preparing the range for the beach race, please avoid using oils not suitable for your range....especial this Castrol 5w20. It is api sl, ilsac gf 3. This oil is obsolete according to ilsac. All range rovers are to use the recommended Castrol edge 5w30, 5 w 20 and for the most recent, 0w20. They are all Api SN rated, ilsac 5, the oils give your engine the best protection
