Unfortunately there is no such service in Nigeria where you can check history of the vehicle.

However there is such service in USA, as autocheck ,so you can know all history of the car, if it was involved in accident and how many owners does it have .

For the past years there have been a tendency of importing salvage vehicles from North America for further restoration and resell.

The reason for this is that it is more profitable to bring severely damaged vehicles with the deployed airbags, cars that are considered inoperable in North America, then restore them using cheap materials.

As a result, the seller makes profit of around $ 4000 - $ 6000 by selling such cars , as for clean cars the profit is reduced to $ 1000 - $ 3000. Accordingly, this difference explains the high demand for salvage vehicles.

However, if the vehicle is imported from North America there is data base where you can see the full history of the vehicle such as Autocheck and Carfax. By using these reports you can see:
- Whether the car was involved in any major accident:
- Whether it was a victim of a hurricane, fire, flood etc.
- Amount of owners.
- The type of owners ( private use or rental service in Maintenance )
- Service records ( how often it attended to the car station - oil, filter replacement etc. )
- The last recorded mileage in the U.S.

Unfortunately in Europe there is no such service where you can check the history of vehicle by using Carfax or Autocheck therefore you cannot have an idea of the vehicle's past and it's precise condition.

Unfortunately despite all the cautions, most of the consumers attracted by the low price buy vehicles without cheking upon the basic history whether the vehicle has ever been involved in accidents, flood, hurricanes etc. not realizing that this can save their lives one day.

In general, the best way to purchase a vehicle is to order it directly from North America as you will see real pictures of the vehicle plus you will have condition report made by qualified inspectors and also actual odometer plus full history of the vehicle will be also available for you.
