Steve was half arab by birth, since his father is arab.

Technically, that makes him (full) arab even though he didnt identify as such, since he was not from the middle east.

Actually Steve was given up for adoption at birth by his mother
She had fallen out with Steve's dad then as from inception her parents never wanted her to marry him
Steve later got in touch with his biological mom and sister but NEVER with his dad
He was 50% Arab biologically and 100% American by cultural development
And he was never a muslim. He was a Christian and later converted to Budhism

John A. Makdisi argues that many concepts of English common law, including juries at least partly, derive from Islamic law. In the same period as William the Conquerer conquered England, Norman adventurers led by Robert Guiscard had taken Sicily, previously under the Arab Fatimid Caliphate. Thus, Makdisi claims, English law became influenced by the Islamic law used in Sicily under the Fatimids, including the use of the twelve man jury.
