A renowned philanthropist and founding chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, Dr. Sam Onyishi, has decamped to the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). Onyishi who is the Managing Director of Peace Mass Transit Limited, was welcomed into the APC fold at a meeting of stakeholders of the party, held on Sunday in Enugu. Although the meeting was held behind closed doors, an insider source disclosed to journalists that Dr Onyishi used the opportunity to declare his interest to vie for the governorship of Enugu State in 2015 on APC platform. BTW, Gil and ike nike are seasoned politicians while peace Is just another business man trying to experiment on politics. He doesn't have the necessary political wits to survive in politics. He should use his money to do more meaningful things than engaging in political campaigns. |

Maybe people will take their share from this man's wealth during compaigning.He is really rich and God may want the money to go round Enugu and its environment. His is welcomed into Nigeria politics and we are waiting for philanthropic nature to make more people millionaires during campaign. |

This does not make him a politician. I have known PEACE right from his days in Nsukka Mass Transit and when he ran for House of Assembly and lost. He is just not a politician. His philanthropy aside, he is just going to make a lot of noise, spend a lot of money and end up like Ifeanyi Ubah. I bet what brought him into the race is the fact that the governorship will be zoned to Nsukka zone. He knows that the PDP will not give him ticket, Okey Ezeah is in control of LP in the state and Brig- gen Okoloagu (retd) holds sway in APGA. The only option is to hitch a ride with the APC that Hon Dubem Onyia seem to have abandoned for Osita Okechukwu, who is a newspaper politician. They will only squander his money( he has a lot afterall) and make more enemies for him than he can contain after the elections. He is a business man, let him concentrate on his business cos real business men make bad politicians and real politicians make bad businessmen. |

Onyishi means blind man in central igbo but in nsuka dialect, it also means d eldest man. Evri village in nsuka has an "onyishi" which is a title dat automatically goes 2 d eldest man in dat village. Maybe d term was coin in those days wen ppl stay veri long that dey might has bn blind b4 dey becum d eldest |
