If fuel economy is ur main priority, pls stay away from that machine because it is not for u. That machine looks like a w12 6.0L engine. That car is a high end luxury car which can be on per with Mercedez benz S class.. problem is people would rather buy an S class. If u want an everyday car, don't buy it. If u already have like 2 cars and want something to make u stand out and have enough money for fuel and maintenance, then buy it. And if u are buying it, go with a scanner to scan it first because there's a check engine light on. First find out what the the fault is and see if its what can be easily fixed. Personally I do not think anything is fishy with this car for sale. But the main problem with this vehicle is the high cost of running the car, lack of skilled mechanics to even open the bonnet, let alone delve deeper into the engine, possible lack of parts or the cost of spare parts. You buy the car, and be prepared to serve the car, and when parts begin to fail, get four mortars and suspend the car till thy kingdom come !!!! I would love to rent the car for a week or two, and take it on a very very very long driving cruising trips inter-state + inter-country !!! (but roads would have to be pothole free and armed robbers free ) 2 Likes |

That car was not a success, it ended as soon as it began. Ur biggest concern should be the fact that u'll probably be the only one with it in ur state so shld something go wrong u will have no one 2 ask for advice. |

Why would you have money for a W12 phaeton and worried about fuel economy I'm not sure if they had that engine in Bently for a while. The car is a good buy like Merz 600, but for you bad idea.The car probably cost $100k new 1 Like |

@OP, fueling should even be the least of your worries here! Buy the car and be a proud owner of an artifact in your yard. you would have actually turned your compound to a sort of museum. Which of those buttons will Baba Taofeek fiddle with if an electrical problem is suspected? Because I can bet that you will not see more than 1 or 2 of this car within 400km radius to where you live. (well maybe Lagos is not included) This is the only car I have seen on Nairaland that the owner all by himself reduced the price by almost half the original quote. It used to be the otehr way round where Nairalanders will help you divide your asking price into 2 equal parts. If it has come to this I will simply start riding the car myself if I were the owner. Though I learnt the car is just VW version of Audi A8. Don't know for sure. 3 Likes |

Fixed: Though I learnt the car is just VW version of Audi A8. Don't know for sure. You're right - the Volkswagen Phaeton is Volkswagen's equivalent of Audi's A8. There's a big difference though - the Volkswagen Phaeton is the regular steel unibody, while the Audi A8 is an aluminium space frame, making the bodyshell much lighter AND stiffer. |

The seller is also a blatant liar, or terribly ignorant. He states the car has a top speed of 360 km/h (224 mph). The Volkswagen Phaeton has a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). 2 Likes |

In the world of high-value art, it is often said..."If u have to ask the price of an item before u buy it, u obviously can't afford it". Also, in the world of luxury cars, if u have to ask about fuel consumption, u obviously can't afford this car. Pls try civic, corolla, or 206. 2 Likes |
