LeonStark, that your poem is capable of making one's hair stand on end like Sam's when he saw the whitewalkers.

Here's a thing:

GENDRY is azor ahai who was not only a great warrior but also a Good Smith (created lightbringer) GENDRY was told by mellisandre he was strong because he has kings blood, has extreme strength and works in hot fire as a smith (born of salt and smoke) and is of Royalty, Let me know your thoughts?

Mel never meets Gendry. Its Edric Storm, and he's way younger than Gendry, but both are Robert's bastards. But Gendry never wields a known sword, nor did he forge Lightbringer. P.S i dont think Stannis is Azor Ahai...

Get ready to be disappointed this night by episode 9. Some shit that a book character will never do is going to happen. And how have you found Dorne this season ?!

Okay seriously I really hated this episode of GoT. What they did with Stannis was unbelievably dumb and out of character for the man. Yes he is resolved and stubborn but he would never in a million years sacrifice Shireen like that. He is a man of high morals are taking the nd in the books the people he actually allowed to be burnt are those who ran afoul of his laws personally. What they just did was to make him the most despicable character on the show, even the boltons and freys are better than him at this point, at least they didn't sacrifice family for ambition. it wasn't even a pragmatic decision as no one in westoros will support a King that burns his on daughter alive, it is too similar to Aerys for anyone to stomach it.

Really disappointed in the direction they are taking the show and outright livid with what they've done to StannisTheMannis.

Edit: Just learnt the idea for the very stupid scene was given GRRM himself. This suggests something similar happening in the book, like maybe Mel and Selyse sacrificing Shireen to bring back Jon.

Possibly, but I don't think it will be for Jon; the direwolf will be sacrificed for that.

A friend suggested dat melisaandre would want to do it for Stannis and shireen even volunteering to b burnt but dat it would b Jon that would come bak because Mel misread her flames.

They said George told them Shireen will be burned. They didnt say how, and the event leading up to it. That's them cowering behind the books. They then had to make Stannis do it for shock value. When in the real case Stannis wouldn't do it. And if she burns Stannis wouldn't command it. They made a botch of Stannis.

Well i didnt spoil. D& D did, as an attempt to justify what Stannis did. They made a video of it on YouTube, trying to shift the blame to the books.

Yes Shireen is going to be burnt but Stannis isn't going to be the cause, remember he left her behind in Castle Back with Mel like the sensible person he is in the books. GRRM isn't going to shit on Stannis character to make it happen. That is where the idiot showrunners got it wrong.

The thing is still seriously annoying me and for the first time I'm considering abandoning the show and just waiting for the books.

You would be denying yourself the enjoyment of a seeing how the story plays out in two different manner.
The show is just has good and even better than the book, most fans are just angry that the show is straying for the source material which isn't perfect.
How safe is Shireen at the wall ? Protected by a lord commander that doesn't command the full respect of his men and was also absence for a time at the wall who is escorting the bitter rivals of the nights watch to the wall is that a safe enough place for a princess ?
Stannis loved his daughter this was shown to us in so many scenes before the sacrifice, love her so much that the easier option for him would've been to let his men starve and the Bolton's picked them off easily.

The show can never and will never be better than the books. It's like comparing sleep to death biko.

Have been reading since 08
I respect your opinion but I stand by mine though its clear am in the minority.
The last two books of the series where the weakest so far do you agree ?
Most of the materials from this season where from those two books.

They make an adaptation of anything that would bring money 50 shades made money even in it genre it isn't well regarded.

@LeviStark
So you enjoyed the amount of time tyrion spent with the slavers wondering where whores go to ?

I respect your all your opinion my rant was just a build up of all the slack the showrunner have been getting for what I think is a job well done.

Well, if the books were that bad a lot of people (you included) will not be waiting for the 6th instalment the way we are currently doing.

Ok haven seen the season finale of TV series I think it's necessary that GRRM release the next books before season 6 is aired.

So we are now looking forward to the red witch and R'hllor to do their thing and bring everyone's favorite character back to life.

When asked about Jon he replied, "So, you think he's dead, do you ?"

In a weird and masochistic way, I actually wish Jon stays dead. Would love to see how GRRM steers that storyline to something satisfactory.

But... seeing how they contrived to ensure that Melisandre rode back into Castle Black in the show, I guess Mr. Pretty Face will be singing a welcome back song one way or another.

Do u guys think season 6 will be a continuation or will it parallel the events of season 5...i'm thinking they might want to show bran and greyjoys in season 6
Re: Questions, Theories, And Trivia Of The ASOIAF (Game Of Thrones) Books. by sage1000: 2:03am On Jun 17, 2015
Definitely a continuation. For one actors contracts will not allow that kind of storytelling and two the greyjoys are really boring and I don't think the show runners could make them any better than the martells, also Bran's story has reached the same point in the book.
