I've studied the scriptures and also from experience, I've come to realize there's something called generational trends. Whether it is physical or spiritual, its a phenomenon.

For instance, Abraham lied that his wife was his sister. And guess what, Isaac also committed that same lie. In fact, Jacob was more than a liar, he was deceitful.

Abraham's wife suffered barreness and Isaac's wife Rebacca went thru the same ordeal. Jacob's second wife also had difficulty in child bearing.

Another strange thing is that Abraham's elder brother, his father's first born was not blessed as compared to Abraham. The same thing happened to Abraham's first born Ishmael. Isaac was the child of promise instead of Ishmael.
Isaac first son Esau was not blessed but the blessing went to Jacob.
Let's not focus on the -ve alone. When Paul was addressing Timothy, he commended his good character which he inherited from his parents.

In these present day, I have seen some kind of trends in some families. There's a family where the sons never do well. There's another where the daughters don't get married on time.
