5) Jack is three times as old as Jill,but in three years time he will only be twice as old. How old are Jack and Jill?

1. re-arranging according to alphabetical order, we have: arteriole, arthritic, arthritis, arthropod, artichoke, articular, artificer and artillery.
2. 100,95,88,79,68,55,40,23........>88 and 55 are the new answers.

100-5=95, note: we add 2 to the number that we would use to subtract, so we have:
95-7=88, 88-9=79, 79-11=68, 68-13=55, 55-15=40, 40-17=23.......
3.the group of word that was mispelt that would have meaning is NBDRA, to give us BRAND.
4.0,100,6,94,12,88,18,82,24,76
the new answers is 24 and 76....
workings
the first number 0, has to do with the addition of 6's[and it continues its trend with the third term, fifth term , seventh term and ninth term.
the second number in the sequence, 100, deals with the subtraction of 6, and it continues its trend with the fourth term, sixth term, eight term and tenth term..
i.e for the addition of 6's, we have 0+6=6, 6+6=12, 12+6=18, and 18+6=24..,
other solutions loading.

4. the second term has to do with the subtraction of 6's, so we have: 100-6=94, 94-6=88, 88-6=82, 82-6=76.........that's how it is.
5. for question 5, this is the workings
workings
let's call jack's age=x
let's call jill's age=y
remember from the question that jack's age=3 times jill's age, so we have:
x=3y..........eqn1
note, from the question, in 3yrs time, the sum of jack's age wld be twice of jill's age:
x+3=2(y+3).....eqn2
now from eqn1, x=3y, so we input it into the new eqn.
3y+3=2(y+3)....we open the bracket
3y+3=2y+6 (collect like terms)
3y-2y=6-3
y=3....when y=3, we input our value into eqn1
x=3y
x=3(3)
x=9, therefore, jack's age is 9 while jill's age is 3.
6. solution
let's call the three numbers x, y and z.
(x+y+z)/3=19....eqn1
let's say z is the missing number,
(x+y)/2=24....eqn2
from eqn1, x+y+z=19*3
x+y+z=57....eqn3
from eqn2,
x+y=24*2
x+y=48,...eqn4
we input the value of eqn 4 in eqn 3
so we have,
48+z=57, z=57-48=9...
