ASUU strike has officially been suspended. This is according to Dr. Karo Ogbinaka, chairman of ASUU Unilag, on Sunrise daily, Channels television this morning.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities in Nigeria has suspended the industrial action embarked upon on July 1.

ASUU Chairman, University of Lagos Chapter, Dr. Karo Ogbinaka told Channels Television that the union decided to suspend the strike after a marathon meeting held in Minna, Niger State capital on Monday.

In attendance at the meeting, which ran till late in the evening, were all the ASUU branch chairmen and secretaries, the national executive members of the body, coordinators and past leaders, including 56 members from 52 universities.

Dr. Ogbinaka said that, in line with procedures, the different chapters of ASUU would hold congress meetings on Wednesday to inform members and managements of the institutions of the latest development.

Thank God ....buh Normally ..this week shud be d last week of lecture dis year...nd its Tuesday already yet they still have to inform there members at different schls on Wednessday...dah means if their's gonna be lecture this year at all its gonna be thursday nd Friday...so who amngs Us students will travell all way to schl this year jst 4 a 2 days lecture....their plan is to start academic works Next year...jst keep doing it buh this is where We student will tell U dah We av rights too...if the effect of the N200b is nt seen with immediate effect...then NANS will hv to show this lecturers that Youths hv the propensity for thugery nd rugedness
