Jakumo: If the quad-copter shown in the picture above IS the object that crashed through the roof in Ibadan Nigeria, then it was most certainly NOT launched from Texas, but from somewhere less than ONE mile from the crash site.

That is NOT a military "drone" but a hobbyist quad-copter with very limited range, that is available to anyone with $350 to spend, from numerous internet websites. Somewhere in Ibadan there is a hobbyist who has lost his aerial photography toy, and that is all there is to this story.

US drones that are designated for long-range operations are ALL fixed-wing airplanes, and NOT helicopter derivatives like the Walkera Model QRX350 shown in the above picture, which, by the way, looks suspiciously un-damaged, in the aftermath of a purported crash.

To add to your explanation that the controller might not be more than a mile away from the crash site.

Awotan in Ibadan is the same community where Liforte international school is located. (For people who don't know 'Liforte' is one of the most expensive secondary schools in Africa with yearly tuition in excess of N1.5m) so forget the fact that the community is a poor village they got some rich kids at their backyard that can afford expensive toys like that.

You see choppers flying in to drop students for the beginning of session and the school is being guarded by heavily armed uniformed men.

Though not ruling out the fact that it may be a spying gadget.

Holy cow, Jimoh. You are talking serious BIG money. I cannot think of a single school of any sort in the USA or the UK where students are dropped off on campus by helicopter. Assuming you are not joking, then there is a good chance that one of those rich kids sent that RC quad helicopter up. Since that bird is GPS enabled, the owner should have a pretty good idea where exactly the craft went down, but may have decided to write it off as a loss and buy another one, rather than go to a poor neighborhood and risk getting kidnapped over a mere $400 hobby copter.

Jonathan commissioned a Nigerian made drone. A week after that open letter accused him of a 1000 watch list on sniper crosshairs. This is followed by a drone in the Ibadan airspace.

Jonathan and Stealer Oduah owe us explanation.

The drone didnt make it to osun to spy on the south-west jihadist Governor. Anyway becareful cause the drone may be programmed to self-destruct to avoid the information it gathered of being tapped.

It has a flight time of 7mins how could it have come from texas. Lol naija google it up and read the reviews on the said drone.
Re: Unknown 'Drone' Crashes In Ibadan (Pictures) by namdo(m): 5:33pm On Dec 29, 2013
That's better called UAV instead. It must have been launched from a nearby location to do an aerial
Photogrammetric survey. Well the owner may look for it because of the data if he is not afraid of being attacked. Its not necessarily a toy. Its the new attraction for surveillance and aerial mapping.

Why do I continuously get embarrased by my fellow omo oluyole?

A battery pack powered drone from Texas? With at least no solar panel for recharging?

This is the same town where the human fish thing occurred.

By the way, was this written by a kindergartner?

THIS IS THE MOST REASONABLE COMMENT, NIGERIANS SHOULD PLEASE EDUCATE THEMSELVES. THIS IS JUST A TOY NOT MILITARY GRADE. (BUT COULD BE USED FOR ULTERIOR MOTIVE).
