How To Check For Tyre Punctures / Leaks? by leighcon(m): 12:44am On Dec 31, 2013
I am just being curious, are there any other/ modern ways of checking for tyre punctures/ leaks apart from Nigerian Vulcanizers' (foganiza) style of inflating the tyre and pouring water all round to check for bubbles?

Quick googling actually revealed that soapy water can be used, but I feel there could just be some more professional way of doing this. Enthusiasts/ Pros in the house oya.........

Its possible only if the air pumped in the tire is a special one, then a device could be used to find leaks without removing the tire. Like in airplanes, a special device like the gager muller counter is used to detect spaces in the welded plane body by pumping a radio active chemical inside the vacuum and the counter is used to find holes and spaces by scanning the body with the device..

You may not get any info here because vulcanizer is different from mechanic. We have mechos here not vulgar. Lol
