Hello people, plz am new on nairaland. & i need honest answers from you all. It has not been easy for me picking up a career course for myself. Itz not dat i don't aspire to be someone like dis or like dat, but d admission system in nigeria has really affected my choice. I don't wanna keep writing jamb over n over again. I'm an arts student, and i wanna aspire for political science. But the stiff competitions in schools these days for the course has discouraged me. So i had backup courses, which are:

Library & information science combined with pol science-UNN
History combined with pol science-UI

My Question is will dey treat political science dat have been combined with those courses above, d way d course itself is??. Cos i wanna combine something with my political science degree. Guyz, pls advise me. I love LIS more than History tho.

I need proper breaking down of these two courses and advices whether i should still pursue my pol science. But i can't risk anything dis year. Cos d cutoff mark for these courses are 50, while pol science is very high & super competitive. Pls advise
me. Thank you.

i understand ur plight. 1stly,lemme ask what ur reason 4 picking pol science is! If its to b a politician,to me i don't think u need to study pol science to achieve that..... Well,lemme, go straight to d point. I don't think therez anything like combined-course in U.I, what i know of is that we can borrow courses, either from a different dept or a different faculty. So u can alwayz borrow from pol science. About LIS, in U.I its knwn as "Licrary Archival & Information Studies(LARIS)" its under the faculty of education. I bet u,its d best course under its faculty. And d only course that has no teaching subject(doe it would av bn an added advantage 4u). So,al u do wyl others are going 4 TP, is to b in a library for ur IT. I just got admitted for LARIS.and evry1 av bn meeting tell me its a very nice course, no stif competition cut off had alwayz bn 50%. . Hope av helped a little! Anymore questions? And its quite better than History!

The top dog told punch the resumption date is February. I guess there will be a big overhaul to the current calender which says March
