All points raised is also applicable to other social networks like twitter and instagram one way or the other.. are you telling me that with instagram or twitter, your privacy is 100% intact.. or why do we even join social networks if not to part away with some of our privacies.. Are you telling me ur parents or grandparents can't follow you again on instagram or twitter.. These are all Bullshit!!

That last point is not just for fb! Bbm, whatsapp, twitter. Its just terrible. They've really madeit hard to get over an ex! They can turn someone to a stalker. U just need self control.

This rings true. Recently deactivated my facebook account due to the following reasons;

1 . Textspeak . It's sad some people wear you down with abbreviations like uwcm, alryt, rily e.t.c making whole sentences incomprehensible to decipher.

2. Introduction of trendier, private platforms e.g path .

3. Lack of innovation.Facebook to me seems pretty much the same.

4. Disconnection from reality. Folks, virtual communication has its limits. Peer to peer, one on one interaction with yours truly is and has always been the way.

Tell me 11 reason not to use facebook, I ll giv u 50 reasons to continue using it.

As for me I spend most of my time on nairaland, facebook is jst a place I store my pics for future reference, not dt fascinating anymore.

Has become boring... and as for most of the points listed by the OP - Twitter is no different either. The only good thing however about facebook is just the fact that it reminds me of my friends birthday.

Well said, No.11 is so correct, cos wen u see an ex or an enemy posts about how happy they are without you, your soul burns with anger. The one that pains me most is when you post something really good and you get no likes and comments, but if a cute girl does that, she gets 100likes and 200comments itz xo fucking annoying. I prefer nairaland at least any topic i post no matter how bad it is people will still comment, some will critize,some will say end time tinz, others will encourage you or say "just passing by" in all itz fun. But am not quitting facebook yet, i'll only reduce my facebooking. Meanwhile OP make mark zuckerberg no swear for you oh.

Ignorance. Just say you don't know what to do with facebook other than chatting. I learn lots from fb through programming groups also gets current information from like minds. Times I don't visit some sites till I see their update on the news feed. Facebook is more than what you listed.

then facebook has just about 6million Nigerian users.... Today facebook has over 11million Nigerian users and still counting.

The truth remains that Nigeria is populated with so many daft people that will see the truth and wont want to embrace it, common to set up a blog they dnt know how do attempt it, if u go to webmaster section of Nairaland u will find alot of them asking very annoying questions that they would have made online search or read one or two books to find the solution.

Just like someone said on a particular thread, the best thing is to allow these people to keep wallowing in their ignorance.

Facebook is the best and will remain so... if u dnt like anything there simply ignore it... maybe the reason why u people says it annoying is cos u browse from ur phone... plz try a system for atleast a week.
