Harry is the only son of his family,
most loved,
Not just because he is cute but also because he represents the continuation of the lineage of his 52 years old father.
No one jokes with his welfare, not even his 5 big sisters.

His mum sees him as the string of hope that made his father not to find another wife after so much pressure from his family.

It was Christmas season
and Harry and his family had gone home for the yuletide.
Being the cute "bobo" that he is,
every girl in that community that saw him often looks again to have a more relaxed look on this prince charming.
Harry on his own, cherishes fresh looking ladies too.
Being a fair complexion guy,
he's got a great deal of penchant for dark and slim girls.

While having one of his rides with his smooth red Audi car around the community's football field, his eyes caught a damsel which he could not resist.
Peace was a charming lady whose village borders that of Harry's.
Her shape was alluring while her eyes is everyman's prison.
Men have had to crawl on their knees just to have her attention in the village. Hence, she was up for the highest bidders.
She was simply catching her fun in the community.

But then, something tragic had happened to her, earlier on in the village.
Ichie Agim, who lived in a neighbouring village, has been boiling in envy against this girl for reasons best known to him.
He believes that Peace's alluring beauty would one day earn her a rich husband which would translate to the upliftment of her family and he just cannot live to see that happen,
This is coming after having a quarrel with Peace's late father.
So many people in the village even believe that the Ichie was behind the mysterious death of Mazi Okezue, Peace's father.
But since no one can prove it, everyone steered clear.

It happened that Ichie Agim had enticed the young girl with so much money to seduce her to bed.
Little did Peace know that a ritual was been done to her in the love-making with the Ichie.
She was a young girl then, so, enticing her wasn't a hard nut to crack for the Ichie.
The spell Ichie had prepared carefully was meant to kill any man that makes love to her, THE NEXT DAY.

This spell had killed dozens of men already in the village that it became obvious that Peace was the cause of their deaths.

Harry does not stay in the village,
how could he had known ?

After Chatting up this damsel on this last day of the year December 31st, she hopped into the smooth car and off they went to a nearby hotel 2 drink where Harry made sure that his sweet angel got tipsy enough before he secured a hotel room they made crazy love.
It was long since Harry encountered a lady as ecstatic as Peace.
She was simply Sweet,,,
Could the charm done on her by the Ichie be the reason for her excessive 'bedmatic' sweetness ?

Well....
While Dropping off Peace at a junction leading to her house, Harry's Aunty who was coming back from a wedding anniversary celebration, saw both of them together.
This sent waves of shock into her spine as she wished she was just dreaming "Oh God, let it be that the Worst has not Happened ooo"... She exclaimed...
She made sure that
she followed Harry home where she complained to his mother about the impending danger.
Harry who was now pissed off, was called out by his shocked mother to confirm what she has heard.
Playing the situation down,
Harry claimed that they were just friends and nothing more.
At this juncture,
he was now told about the danger of sleeping with the girl and its consequences.
He was also told that more than 20 men have died because of that same girl and all of them die exactly the next day after meeting her.
On hearing this, Harry could barely stand on his feet. Cold sweat overran his better as his conscience could clearly testify that he has done the worst mistake in his entire life.

"Oh my God, Harry, tell me you have not done it..." Cried his mother in disbelief.
"Oh mama", cried Harry, who was now in tears, "What have I done ? Does this mean that I'm about to die?, Oh God, today is my last ?" He screamed in great shock,,, , tears was now dripping and gushing off his eyes as he stared into space recollecting what just happened.
He just couldn't believe it.

At this juncture, his mother threw herself to the ground while shouting in a panicky voice.
She just cannot live with the reality of losing her only son.
She cried and called on God, literally asking Him, "Where Are You ?"

So much attention was called to the scene.
So much People around gathered.
His 5 sisters and his father came out. They were all shocked, crying, weeping and even mourning Harry's death though he still breathes.
It was a great pandemonium in their compound, such that has never happened in that village before.

Harry's friends all gathered.
Everyone imagined having this handsome, nice dude dead,
IT WAS SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE.

Harry's father who was now struggling with his blood pressure had to call his pastor on phone,
but was disappointed with the pastor's response of Having a Cross-Over Vigil programme that evening,
Meaning that he could not make it.
He barely assured him that God was in control.
"God in control ? Queried Mr Harry(Snr) Obiora,,,
My son is dying and you re there telling me
that God is in control, Pastor,
that money you would make through people's seeds and tithes,
are they more important than the life of my son ?"
He further questioned on phone, angrily...

Well, the pastor doesn't seem to be available now,
So in desperation, the Christian family of Harry Senior had to accept having a native doctor that evening.
THEY JUST NEEDED THEIR SON ALIVE - through hook or crook.

The native doctor came
and after making some incantations on Harry, he screamed at his findings. This further shocked the mamoth crowd in that compound.
All they wanted to hear was that the spell has been broken, "so why this shout again?" They wondered...
After some sacred silence,
the native doctor opened up on what he saw;
He told them all that the spell is so strong that only the tongue of a python would break it.
Friends and relations all volunteered to raise money so that he, the native doctor
could secure the python's tongue, but they were all shocked when he insisted that it was not a matter of money,
a snake's tongue is the only and final answer, he concluded.
This is coming after he had collected a non refundable fee of #20,000.

Since it was not possible for them to get the tongue of a python that night, he stood up and took his leave while apologising to them.

What else can they do ?
Harry is now left to his fate.
His dear mother even cried and cried, almost crying her eyes out of its sockets, no one had the heart to console her, it was the emotional of all nights for them all.
The new year is now meant to be his death day.
People slept in their house that night as they waved him goodbye.
Goodbye... The hardest thing to say.
While some of them prayed,
MANY WERE STILL CRYING.

That night, Mrs Cynthia Obiora could not sleep.
How could she ?
Her only hope was about to fade away.
That night was the longest night in the history of Ezinba village.
It was a vigil for the dying Harry.
What a tragedy to see one's impending death while he could do just nothing.

The next morning,

All of them rushed to the door of Harry's room.
They found the door locked.
"Why would a dying man lock his room ?
Does he want his corpse to rot and smell ?" They wondered...

All of them believed that Harry must be dead by now,
So the young men with heart amongst them
got tools to break the door so they could retrieve the 'corpse'.
While they were busy hitting, banging and working on the door to open,

A young girl walked out of the room,
