Ten finalists have emerged from the Afrinolly short film competition, having been subjected to the fiery screening flames fueled by the judges; Femi Odugbemi (head of the jury), Tunde Kelani, Franklin Leonard, Komla Dumor, Steven Markovitz, Obi Emelonye, Mahen Bonetti, Tambay Obenson, Bongiwe Selane, Akin Omotosho and Nmachi Jidenma. This is by no means a small feat With over 400 entries in the race to win the prize money. Now the public can vote for their favourite short film or documentary on afrinollyshortfilmcompetition.com/vote.php. Voting closes on Sunday 19th January, 2014. A cash prize of $25,000 goes to the overall winners in both categories, while the first and second runners-up will receive $10,000 and $5,000 respectively. Winners will receive their cash awards at the award ceremony slated for Saturday 22nd February, 2014. Shame my film was not nominated. I wish the finalists all the best. Btw, I am not happy with them, they couldn't even acknowledge my video by mail on something. |

VillageBoi: Yes, they didn't. But I won't give up. I am almost putting finishing touches to my next movie. I will still participate next year. I may decide to watch the finalists clips and found out why I didn't make the final cut. So necessary adjustment. |

Originalsly: What film did you submit last year?It was 'Sweet Sixteen'. But after the experience of by-force Google+ I decided not to do AfriNolly again; also even if not selected, after the whole show they want you to sign your film to them - of course I didn't  They seriously should let people submit without forcing them to get a G+ account... that thing is so intrusive. |

speedyboi:Not the copyright. Let me see if I still have the letter... can't remember the content. BRB. * It was for filmmakers to sign a right-to-showcase agreement... basically they get a ton of 'content' and can do with it what they want; which is a fair enough deal considering the sort of funds they give out in prizes. Personally I'd only ever do that if I were a finalist... at least you're 'getting' something out of it. |

The films and documentaries last year were really good. I hope the winners this year are truly deserving. I am still watching the short films, will come back when i'm done. I know i'll be voting for In Iredu though |
