I live and work in PH, where there is really nothing for recreation. No parks, no beaches, and there are no popular play grounds.
I Work almost 7days every week.

Is it just fast foods on sundays thats available for families? The men hang out after work, weekdays. Drink some beer, hang out at the bars before heading home, usually avoiding the annoying PH evening traffic.

Its raining these days so I don't know about swimming.

I have my own style anyway, I play a lot of video games and spend time with my RC toys but I am just wondering what really Nigerians do for recreation.

well as for Lagos, there are alot of ways to do that, going to the beach, cinemas or clubbing.

some ppl have sex for recreation. some do it with chickens, some do it with goat and dogs whil the lucky ones do it wit human beings. i heard of somebody do it wt a kangaroo , its all recreation

But, u can take a walk with ur family. Ride bicycles with dm. Go to an empty land, throw flying disks or have park games.

Register in clubs and go swimming or learn.

Take a weekend trip every month and go to other states. Visit the state's tourist attraction. Look for cheap hotels.

Buy snooker board.

Have a games room with tampoline, bouncy castle, footballs, basketballs, monopoly and other board games.

Hv a picnic in ur back garden!

Anyway in Port Harcourt, certain things are not possible.

RACING- you will end up killing an okada rider or be thrown off the road when you ram into the next pot-hole.

MOUNTAIN CLIMBING- simple, No mountains!

WALK AT THE PARK- You most likely will end up loosing you phone in the process or all personal belongings on you, kidnapping is possible.

BOAT RIDE - You will definitely be over run by sea pirates or be caught in cross fire between JTF and militants if not taken for a militant yourself.

PICNIC - You will be kidnapped. So make the ransom money available to family members before you proceed on the picnic.

I wont lie I was never bored in naija as I am here. Board/family games: ayo, ludo, monopoly, whot nd war, etc makeshift picnic, travelling, theatre, swimming, long nature walks by choice or by brokeness, amusement parks, watch masquerades perform, ikoyi club 4 donkey rides nd such, barbeach, zoos, museum trips, cook, etc. Dere r plenty of things 2 do men!
