vict505: Guys how are we preparing August 5th is here. I also got a job in Lagos and I can't quit my job cos of service. What do u advice ? I am in Lagos and I got a job with a bank.

Bro u need to think very well b4 taking ur decision. My case is similar to urs but NYSC certificate is paramount to me. My plan is only to go for d 3weeks camp and redeploy back to my state whr I work and also runs my PPA. I can't tell u to resign now and come back after a year to roam about lookin for job. may God help us.

NYSC mobilised 2.7 million
members in 41 years —DG
OVER 2.7 million corps
members have been mobilised
in the last 41 years since the
National Youth Service Corps
(NYSC) scheme came into force
in the country.
The Director-Genera l of the
NYSC, Brigadier-Gener al
Johnson Olawunmi, disclosed
this on Tuesday, during a
media chat to unfold his four-
point agenda on how to
reposition the 41-year-old
scheme.
Speaking in Abuja, on Tuesday,
during a media chat with
bureau chiefs and editors, the
NYSC boss stated that the
figures kept increasing
annually, adding that over
96,000 graduates would
participate in the 2014 Batch
‘B’ orientation exercise set to
commence August 5 and 6.
While speaking on its Four
Point Agenda programme, he
said this is aimed at improving
the service content of the
scheme, enhancing the welfare
and safety of corps members
and staff, expanding
partnerships for maximum
impact, funding and support
and increasing the visibility
and relevance of the scheme.
He stated that the agenda
incorporated programmes and
service delivery content of the
scheme with a view to
realigning them with current
national realities.
He stated that the policies
implemented include an
upgrade in its 24 hours
distress call centre to render
assistance to corp members
when needed.
The NYSC boss said it had
renewed collaborations with
key security agencies in the
country to boost the existing
security arrangement during
orientation programmes.
He further stated that the Skills
Acquisition and
Entrepreneurshi p
Development programme of
the scheme is to encourage
self reliance among corp
members adding that this will
as well bring about industrial
revolution in the country.
He disclosed that a total of two
hundred and eighty-five
thousand (285,000) corps
members have since been
trained under the Skill
Acquisition Programme.
To ensure corp members easy
access to information on the
scheme, he stated that the
NYSC has developed a Mobile
Application.
He said this will serve as an
information service tools from
which information can be
received by them.
In line with this, he added that
the scheme is set to
commission an online
registration, where prospective
corps members can print call
up letters.
