I want to service my 2004 corolla and have been searching for the recommended engine oil (5W-30) for close to a week now but could not get. Does anyone have an idea of where i can get it in Lagos? All the Total filling stations I've been to didn't have. Help please, my car is due for service. And if there are alternatives, please let me know. Thanks.

Unfortunately not good for the engine.

Quarts 7000 in nigeria is 15w50 and to thick, it will gradually wear out the cam shafts and cause a rattling noise when engine is cold started.

Start with 0w-40 or any xx-40 if it does not short then stick with it.

There's mobil1 and quart 9000 (total)

I tried the number but couldn't connect. but I was able to get a mechanic who did the repairs. It was really bad the quantity of sludge that was flushed out, sometimes as thick as petroleum jelly. The car is to be driven for 2days and returned for another flush and coolant replacement. Thanks so much.

Gazzuzz I've got a creamy mixture under my oil cap but none on the dip stick, it all started on the 24th when I topped the oil with a different grade and added some Seafoam treatment before taking her for a drive... could my different grade mix + Seafoam produce water droplets..??

Signs of a burnt head gasket.

Check radiator cam for oily mix like sludge.

@Gazzuzz good morning.
Please I noticed the coolant on my car reservoir is bellow MIN. I did the few mins running of engine you suggested sometime ago yet it's still under the MIN.
Can I top the coolant with another one or will I have to do drain of the old one?
It's the coolant that came with the car.
It's a Honda Accord 1998 i4

@Gazzuzz please also I noticed little engine oil drops from this part of the car (mechanic called it 'distributor')
My mechanic has twice worked on it with car glue yet I noticed it again this morning.
