Mehnnn, fellow intelligent mates come to my Aid. I just received an offer letter from a morthgage bank, training is at Abuja commences next week. 6 weeks training all exxpenses paid from flight to en fro to feeding , accommodation en all. But the clause there is, I havee to sign a 2 year contract bond that I won't leave employment within 2 years en if I leave, I gatz pay 2 million. Is there any hope of union finalizing this recruitment this year beefore I make up my mind on this present offer. Also I heard union does the same, signing of 2 years bond contract. Pl |

Pl2 years bond is common with most banks except few,a bank that can afford a full expense paid training with flights should have good welfare package. BTW, a bird at hand, they say.....to avoid biting fingers later, I think u should go with ur newly found job. 6 Likes |

cc150615:I second this...if the renumeration is cool, then accept it...a bird at hand is worth more than a thousand in the bush bro...Almost all banks do this bond thing, Union, access, Aso etc... Btw, the bank really tried shaa, taking up all the training expenses. .. 4 Likes |

Dis isn't a matter of bird @ hand, cos u hv canary @ hand already. since u hv a job tink well b4 u accept. Banks during training dey wil pamper u, take gud care of u, pay ur t.fare, feed u sote u go start 2 blush cos u wil be treated lyk a king/queen wen u resume work u wil knw hw fr even union pays abt 150k during training.u hv 2 tink abt d location or where u wil be posted 2 finally, your unit posted. if u can afford 2million less(minus) d months u must hv worked wen u hv a good offer 2 pay. Tonynwaduche: Any news ?? The current contract staff were to be converted to regular staff subject to passing the convertion/apptitude test, this may delay if not put on hold the current GT 2014 recruitment programme schedule. |

thegreatman4ww: Are you very sure that assessment test is primarily for conversion? Because I learnt its to get the contract staff familiar with the normal e-learning stuff as it is done for the core staff. |

JAGZZ: E-learning is designed a way that everyone has opportunity to pass at three attempt, even if ones fails the three attempt he/she will be enrolled again, bottom-line, everyone must pass. So it is different. |

MarvellousGod: @davide470, why union dey sell their properties? Not selling, re-strategizing. When a foreign player see potentials and profitability in any business, they invest for a period and cash out to another when they have gotten value for their money.. UBN is going places. |

MarvellousGod: @davide470, why union dey sell their properties? Union Bank is not selling off their properties rather a consortium raised it stake in the Bank........It is worthy to mention that Union Bank is an international bank owned by the following Rank Name of Owner Percentage Ownership 1 Union Global Partners Limited 63.57 2 Other Investors 15.36 3 Asset Management Company of Nigeria 21.08 Total 100.00 Union Global Partners Limited is a consortium of financial institutions that include the following: (a) ACA Holdings Limited (b) ACA Managed Fund (c) Netherlands Development Finance Company (d) Standard Chartered Private Equity (e) Auctor Capital (f) Carlye Capital of Washington DC (g) High Vistar (h) The Keffi Group VIII LLC ( Keffi Group, JC Flowers, BGI) (i) ABC Holdings Limited of Botswana and (j) Discovery Group of Connecticut, United States of America. Asset Management Company of Nigeria is an arm of the Federal Government of Nigeria. (This means that Nigeria Government still has a larger share in the Bank) Other Investors includes individuals/firms that holds different numbers of shares in the company. Atlas Mara today (05/09/2014) is buying additional 20.9 out of 21.08 percent stake from Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (Amcon). What this means that Union Bank is almost fully owned private international commercial bank 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, a friend of mine just told me he got a mail inviting him for a panel interview at union bank this weekend. We both did the deloitte interview since March this year. Pls any useful tips on possible questions? He was asked to bring his letter of appointment/offer/promotion in his former bank and 5 copies of his CV. Meanwhile, a former coliq that now works in Union bank said they interview candidates almost every week and new staff resume in his branch every month so that put to rest insinuations that recruitment had been suspended indefinitely. Pls nairalanders, USEFUL TIPS for dis broda. Tnx |
