While we wait, watch and pray that the union banks recruitment team remembers us it is imperative that we seek opportunities elsewhere. Got a job in another bank where I did test two months after the union bank test. I don't think these ppl are ready to hire anybody or did they have second thoughts along the way?It's quite unfortunate that they'll keep ppl waiting this long without any word or msg to help keep our hopes alive haba since 2 July 2014 nothing .

Hey guyz, dnt b soprised at Union bank. Thats how dey operate. I have a friend who got job with them last yr, it was 1yr after he wrote dia test n completed oda proceedings that he was invited for medicals.
So just chill, dey will surely remmba ur files. But in the minwyl b scouting for jobs elsewhere.

Let me give u guys small gist. Sometimes last year December, I was at marina to carry out an official assignment. I finished early so I had enough time left, then I walked past the UBN tower. All of a sudden I grew some balls to turn back and see what inside d building looks like n also ask the receptionists some questions.

Then I entered, the interior....not bad...so I walked up to one of the receptionist who looked nicer and asked if she could assist me with the official human resources phone line or number. She said she can't give me. I asked why?..told me I jus can't call the hr like that.

Well I wasn't satisfied, but there is nothing I can do, so I left. But as I turned, the other lady next to her was checking out a nairaland page, not sure of the section though. But I'm sure she must have seen this thread before. I think they know we are waiting, but no one knows the plan the bank has for us. Only a top executive I think may have answers for us.

I think they will call later this year, so we need to exercise more patience. But I personally won't be suprised if this particular recruitment exercise gets canceled later on.

@ youngwolf, nice update. ... The recruitment may not be cancelled because last recruitment exercise, it took them over one year to call successful candidates for AC..

^^^^ So I heard. Lately, I got an info that some core and contract staff were also laid off. We might be called towards mid year...who knows.

The crumbling economy, depreciating naira and uncertainties due to oncoming elections are making me doubt the continuity of this recruitment.

They're even strong indications that banks would shed many staffs.

Union bank recruitment is still gonna take a while. Banks are shedding staff cos the economy is not doing to well. Fidelity. Ecobank, mainstreet, first bank even union are all offloading staff.....

i received an invite from workforce to come on thur for interview in port.i dont know if it is meant for union bank.they just said for bank interview

I had to ask someone who got in via last recruitment and she said the bank is undergoing some transformation process, refixing of branch structures, platforms etc before bringing in new intakes, that it'll surely be this year. Same old story
