I am yet to read the news formally on any news platform. All I av bin seeing are messages claiming they received calls from some parts of the north. Pls, has there been any formal announcement from the sultan or Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

It is safe to start fasting in case it gets confirmed. Actually, we are not to wait for Saudi's announcement but the announcement of our own leaders.. Sultan talks,we follow, in this case.

So I hear the moon has been sighted in Nigeria.

Actually, the fact that the moon is not sighted in Saudi Arabia doesn't mean that we won't fast here in Nigeria. Our fasting is determined by sighting of the moon in our geographical area, and not Saudi Arabia.
