I promised @tyconcepts I'll talk about the thl4000 I bought through her, so here goes:

Why did I buy this phone?
I bought it primarily because of the battery and the screen size. The battery is large, and it makes it easy to use the phone for more than a day. I am not a fan of 5" screens, especially those with low resolutions, anything less than 960 x 540 px is a no no for me. I guess I might be slightly biased because my former phone (an Infinix Race Bolt) had a 4.5" qHD screen.
What cool features does this phone have:
-It's got a red notification light, handy for messages, and missed calls
-It supports wake gestures
-It is loaded with pure, stock android kitkat, not much in the way of useless apps, and funny launchers
-It is fast, powering up the phone, and shutting down the phone take only a matter of seconds. The phone is also very responsive
-It plays high end games: I have tried out Ashpalt 8, FIFA 15, Virtua Tennis, and Max Payne. All have run smoothly without any lags. I tried the PPSSPP emulator on the phone and it was a bit slow, probably because I have not customised the settings to suit the phone.
-The earphones are slightly decent, and can be used in a noisy environment
-The build quality of the phone is quite solid, no creaking parts. The moment you handle the phone and the battery, you'll know you're handling a well built product.
-It is a dual SIM phone; one SIM slot is for a mini SIM(normal size SIM card) while the other SIM slot is for a micro SIM card. A good feature of the phone is that you can switch on 3G on either SIM. Also this phone supports four (4) 3G frequencies instead of the usual two (2) most chinese phones support.
-The phone comes with Adobe flash pre-installed, a very thoughtful decision.
-The phone supports quick charging
-The front and rear cameras are very good, although you'll need decent lighting. I was particularly impressed with the front camera.

Do I have any issues with the phone?
I have just two issues, which are actually minor issues.
1. The phone comes with a silicone case which only protects the back of the phone. A flip-case would have been preferable.
2. The phone doesn't come pre-installed with an office file viewer (for Word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations)

Do you want to know the really surprising thing about this phone; I got it for 22000 naira, and I suspect it would have been cheaper but for the recent slump in the naira.

I have not had the chance to drain the battery completely (PHCN things), so I can't truthfully answer your first question. when I first got the phone, I charged it and used it for roughly two days; I did some occasional browsing, watched some video clips, streamed online videos, and listened to the radio, and there was still about 30% battery power left.
Charging from 30% was quick but I can't recollect exactly how long it took.
***Which reminds me, I forgot to mention the radio; the radio is awesome. The radio was smart enough to detect the names of most of the radio stations on the dial, something I was quite impressed with. Many phone radios promise to do this but they never deliver on this promise.

The phone feels fantastic. The finishing on the phone is also very good; no creaking or wobbling anywhere on the phone. Although the phone feels a little bit heavy because of the battery, you will notice the weight of the battery when holding the phone.

THL 4000 is the way....I am so buying this phone as spare though as am still cruising my Jiayu. For the battery life am in for it because a good phone with poor battery is more like a curse.
