Egypt team manager Ihab Leheta believes the Africa Cup of Nations Group D will be cagey with each team having an equal chance of progressing to the knock out stage.

The Pharoahs face Mali in their opener before playing Uganda and Ghana in Port Gentil in their final Group match.

It has been tagged as the tournament's tightest Group with three teams from the same World Cup qualifying pool.

''It is the same group as in the World Cup qualifiers except Congo. All teams in Africa now are very strong,'' Leheta told cafonline.com

''We have not been participating in the last three editions and this is why we have to be in a good shape.

''It is very difficult to play the same teams in the World Cup qualifiers (Ghana and Uganda). On the other side, it is a good sign as the teams will get to know each other. Now it will be left to the coaches.''

Chelsea winger Christian Atsu will not continue his stay on loan at Vitesse Arnhem this upcoming season according the club's manager Peter Bosz.

Atsu was voted player of the year after a sterling turn on loan from English club Chelsea and it looks like the English club want to have a closer look at the player who also excelled for his country at the World Cup.

"Half the Bundesliga and Premier League are chasing him (Atsu)" Bosz told dutch journalists.

It is likely Mourinho will prefer to see Atsu play in a more physical league similar to the English Premier league as the next step of his development begins hence the decision.

Bosz also confirmed that most Chelsea loanees including te highly rated Lucas Piazon would not make a return for the upcoming season.

Vitesse's close links with Chelsea has caused friction in the Eredivisie with most clubs complaining of their ability to get better players for free..

Fifteen European clubs including a huge number from the English Premier League are among those chasing Chelsea winger Christian Atsu after excelling for Ghana at the World Cup.

According to media reports in England, Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham are among those chasing the youngster over a possible loan deal in the English top-flight.

Scottish giants Celtic are also hot on the heels of the talented Ghana winger as they want to add him to their squad ahead of their participation in the UEFA Champions League.

According to the Mirror Celtic, Spanish side Espanyol, Dutch giants PSV and Hamburg of the German Bundesliga are also interested in the Ghana star.

But the sticking point is finding a club that will offer him enough game time to increase his chances of competing for a place in the Chelsea side for the following season.

The 22-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Porto at the end of last summer on a five-year deal, spent last season on loan at Vitesse in the Eredivisie where he scored five times in 28 appearances.

He played in all three of Ghana’s games in Brazil as the Black Stars crashed out of Group G with just one point.

And Atsu, who has 26 international caps, has attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs as well as clubs in Europe.

It is thought Chelsea would prefer him to move to team in England so they can establish whether he’s ready for the physicality of Premier League football and Aston Villa, Everton and West Ham are all keen.

hana utility play-maker Andre Ayew may end up signing for AC Milan after being offered to the Italian Serie A giants on Sunday.

According to the Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport was offered to the club on Sunday as he is seeking a move away from French side Marseille.

The lack of title ambition by Marseille is said to have sparked the talented player’s desire to leave the club who are keen on keeping him.

Seeking reinforcements on the wings, the Rossoneri could be tempted by player profile of the 24-year-old, whose contract with Marseille expires in 2015

AC Milan must fend off competition with Serie A campaigners Napoli who are said to have offered 10 million euros for the winger.

If the Rossoneri fail in their bid to sign him, they have lined up Torino’s Alessio Cerci as a Plan B.

The 24-year-old is under contract at Olympique Marseille until June 2015 but has been highly tipped to leave the Stade Velodrome.

Ayew scored two goals at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil despite Ghana’s early elimination.

He had a quiet campaign last term due to injury and managed 25 Ligue 1 appearances with six goals in return.

Ghana will face a tough task in winning the rights to host of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations after Egypt threw their hat into the ring jettisoned by Libya.

Ghana were thought to be the overwhelming favourites to host the competition after Libya withdrew leaving Ethiopia and Kenya to also join in the race.

With the Ghanaians already having the facilities as they hosted the event as recently as 2008 they were seen as ahead of Kenya and Ethiopia who must build fresh facilities to meet the conditions of hosting the continental showpiece event.

However, Egyptian Football Association have now expressed their interest in bidding to host Afcon 2017 after they hosted the 2006 edition which means Ghana have a tough task.

Sources in EFA revealed they are keen to bid to host 2017 edition but they are yet to make a formal decision.

Everton’s Ghana winger Christian Atsu is not eligible to face his parent club Chelsea in Saturday’s English Premier League match.

The 22-year-old has been loaned out for the season and per the agreement cannot play against Jose Mourinho’s side.

Atsu was an unused substitute in their opening 2-2 draw at Leicester City but made his debut last week in their home draw with Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Roberto Martinez has not ruled out the possibility of Samuel Eto’o making his Everton debut against former club.

Bryan Oviedo, Arouna Kone and Ross Barkley are sidelined, though Romelu Lukaku could feature despite limping out of the 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

But Steven Pienaar is out after he too was forced off against the Gunners last weekend.
