The UN mission in Liberia (UNMIL) commenced after the signing of Peace Agreement in Accra, the Republic of Ghana and passing of 1509 UN Resolution on 19 September 2003, the mandate of which is in keeping with Chapters VI and VII of the UN Charter. The current mandate of UNMIL, which had nearly 13,000 troops, police officers and military observers from more 30 countries across the globe.

The essence of this trend is to show the input of various countries including the best participating country in UN peacekeeping “Nigeria.”

This trend will show the contributions of Nigeria Military, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Immigration and Nigeria Prison Service in the enhancement of the peace process in Liberia.

A contingent of different countries put together, you expect each country to display it’s cultural / traditional heritage. I have thousands of pictures to share with you guys.

The US Military have a contingent here in Liberia consisting of The US army, The US navy, The US airforce and also US police. I will post some of the pictures 2morrow Isha Allah.

Each country has is own area of specialization or assigned task. The Chinese’s are mainly engaged in the Transport section. They came with a lot of trucks used in transporting relief materials to refugee’s camp. They also transport equipments, fuel and food to UN peacekeepers in remote areas.

The Americans naturally have a problem with having their troops operate under some international command.

Tho they are on ground in Liberia, i seriously doubt if they operate within the UNMIL setup, u know wearing dem blue hats & all.
