sogodihno: CONCLUSION.MDCAN/NMA has become a fifth columnists working againstthe state. It is sad that MDCAN/NMA and her members who have benefitted so much from the state are now turning themselves against the Nigerian state to become the killer of the Nigerian People, instead of being the Physician who is to be the healer of the patient and people. Nigerians must rise and say no to this medical imperialism by using the instrumentality of the law to stop MDCAN/NMA from inflicting untold hardship on her citizenry. The Federal Government through the Ministry of Health under Prof Onyebuchi CHukwu must act to maintain law and order, now that MDCAN/NMA has told the world that it is because of some of the things she granted to JOHESU on merit, is the reason MDCAN/NMA is going on strike. She should seek an injunction restraining MDCAN/NMA from going on strike just as she did to JOHESU, pending the determination of the motion on notice to know if MDCAN/NMA has the locus standi to go on strike when she is not a Trade Union.JOHESU should be firm to seek a legal redress to restrain MDCAN/NMA in this acts of lawlessness, if the Government does not act. There must be a total restructuring of the Health Sector. All Nigerians from all works of life must condemn these acts of sabotage against the State by doctorsof Allopathic Medicine under the auspices of MDCAN/NMA. The Nigerian Government as a matter of urgency should support the Natural Medicine Development Agency Kofo Abayomi Victoria Island, to reposition our Traditional Medicine to be like what is seen in China, USA, U.K, India, Korea etc. And it should be integrated into the mainstream Healthcare System in Nigeria. Allopathic Monopolistic Medicine should give way to Pluralistic Medicine. Government should create an enabling environment for the practice of the different Medical Systems like, Functional Medicine, Holistic Medicine, Ethnomedicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Homeopathy, Osteopathy etc. All over the world, nocountry is currently solely dependent on one Medical System. Nigerians must say no to MDCAN/NMA that has become anti people. The Nigerian Government should not allow herself to be blackmailed by MDCAN/NMA.She should first and foremost challenge MDCAN/NMA for acts of impunity against the state. The Federal Government should take a leaf from Governor Fashola of Lagos State, for enough is enough. The Government should also take a queuefrom the former governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi.SignedComr. Ajufo,Benjamin Chukwunonso comr. Asiodu,Anthony UcheSecretary,AMLSN Chairman,AMLSNFMC ASABA CHAPTER. FMC ASABA CHAPTERThank you soo much sir for enlightening the public. Nigerian doctor are too egocentric and selfish. Their is no individual or even group that is above the law. They are fighting the law by enbarking on strike but they are fighting a lost battle. They should simply face their profession and leave other professions. |

inimes: The battle for superiority is not going to help the Health Sector. Doctors see themselves as superiors, and sometimes out of selfishness despise the other medical and health professionals. They allow pride and selfishness to make them forget that the Health Service System is all about team work and dependence on one another. They cannot claim monopoly of knowledge because they administer treatment on patients. Nigerians should be ready for more debilitating industrial actions if this impasse is not resolved immediately. Other medical and health workers were running the various health facilities and hospitals while the Doctors were on strike. Only major surgeries were not performed since the Law does not permit it. Let harmony and cordiality be entrenched in the Health System to enhance service delivery. Let the Practitioners in the Sector uphold the ethics of their various fields, which all aim at saving human lives by engaging in the best professional practices. Embarking on strikes always does not help, especially when such strikes are driven by selfish interests and not public interests. Doctors must stop going against the interests of the other medical and health professionals in the interest of harmony and service delivery. You just said other health workers were running the hospitals in our absence...why do you contradict yourself by calling on us again. Pls continue mgt.. 2 Likes |

SAPEDRO: It seems you don't get the drift...its just like you hiring a driver even though you are experts it...its just to relieve the stress off you...would you now say because you can drive you will refuse to hire a good driver when you can very well afford it...the driver is there to relieve your stress but when he wants to start feeling all important...you bounce him and replace him with another...not that you decide to start driving yourself from thereafter...these health workers will keep showing to the world how beneath they are to us with all these clamor...Dr Hippocrates was the founding father of Medicine and all others were assistants..fact! The day assistant will become head has and will never come.. |

THIS IS A SAD STORY:A NURSE TREATED BY A PHARMACIST BATTLING FOR HER LIFE IN ICU This is a recent developing story. Pls read and digest accordingly. A mismanaged case of postpartum ecclampsia by a pharmacist is presently in a critical condition in the ISTH's ICU (Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital). This nurse was said to had put to bed 5days before presentation to the pharmacy (name witheld) opposite Eguare primary school, Ekpoma. Her compliant of headache among other symptoms was taken to be ordinary without any BP check. Rather than refer the patient to the closest clinic/doctors around since she is still in the puerperal stage, he decided to treat. She had seizure (convulsion) on getting home and lapse into unconsciousness. This led to her husband who is not a medical person to start calling for help from all the doctors on his contact. She was rushed to a private clinic where on assessment was diagnosed to have post partum ecclampsia. They got in touch with the anaesthetist and some other consultants in ISTH who rushed in to render their services and stabilize her in ICU. You be the fair judge. I earnestly pray this will not add to our already beyond the sky maternal mortality. A lot of pharmacists, laboratory scientists, nurses, pastors, orderlies, porters, etc run clinics and misinform the populace. Many are dying in the hands of quacks majority of which are the allied medical/paramedical professionals. Giving the the status of doctors, consultants etc is like endorsing this quackery. #bringbackourdoctors #sadlynigerian 5 Likes |

One: Ask JOHESU how nicely lab scientists treat the lab technicians, please? Two: How could pharmacists, nurses, physiotherapists and orderlies be in one union?.(i know we are all humans o...but this is so shady). Three: Truth be told, they are only 50,000(fifty thousand)registered doctors in Nigeria to cater for 180M Nigerians....endangered species Egocentric and arrogant?..(though I disagree, but if at all,why not?) Finally, doctors in Nigeria are subdued compared to their colleagues in other countries and even other professions in Nigeria. |

pls lets always comment intelligently on issues and if we dont have anything intelligent to contibute , it's better we keep mum. this issue is very key to the health sector of this country. Why should one profession seek to keep all others down? why cant all the professionals become the very best in what they do? who are the ultimate benefiaciaries of a sound health sector in which all professionals become experts in their professions? will anyone lose when we get things right in the health sector? Those are the real qtns. |

But you see them all fronting as doctors and misguiding the public when everything scatters they now remember that they are not doctors and refer them to "Dr Signs & Wonders" to perform miracles...when the patients die it is still the same health workers that say : I told you those doctors are Dr death! so as to remove themselves from the blame when a stitch in time could have actually saved nine...Haba Nigerians...when will we be wise? Look at this guy who think we are fools. Pharmacy is 5 year course. And medicine I believe is 6 years course. So are you saying that you cover all that Pharmacists are taught in their five years of study along with that of your medicine curriculum? Pray, please do answer the question. |
