Why was Buhari and some APC Governors absent from the Council of State Meeting called to discuss National issues at this critical time? The Council of State is the highest advisory body to the serving president, It is usually attended by the President, the Vice President, former heads of states, governors of the 36 states including The FCT Minister, former and present Chief Justices of the Federation, the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Inspector General of Police. The meeting which is the second in 2014 was attended by every other member except a former Head of state Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) and all APC governors expect two (Adams Oshiomhole and Murtala Nyako) Governors of Edo and Adamawa states respectively. The former Nigerian leaders present at the meeting are Olusegun Obasanjo, Shehu Shagari, Yakubu Gowon, Ibrahim Babangida, Ernest Shonekan, and Abdusalami Abubakar. One wonders why at this critical time in the history of Nigeria Buhari and the other APC governors who claim to be Progressive would not be concerned of the state of the Nation as Progressives, so to say. The absence of these personalities from the Council of state meeting calls to question their commitment to Nation-building and peace especially in this trying time of our country.
