Lacomus: I think English language has eaten deep into our culture, I was with some friends yesterday, about nine of us were speaking a different dialect, every one was claiming that his local dialect is easier to understand, before I knew it questions were flying any how, some one told the other since his dialect is so simple that he should count from one to a thousand, ma guy no fit reach twenty , even the dude that ask the question couldn't count to fifty at the end of the day few persons barely got to hundred. I know some people can run their mouth from now till tomorrow in their local dialect, the big question is can you count to one thousand ?

Why should i want to do that ? For what purpose ? Will it get me a better job? Will it get me a better babe ?
What is the incentive ? Tell me and I will count .... I will even count backwards grin grin grin

That's still cool. I remembered there was no language teacher in my school in those days. So I enroll igbo language just for fun/to complete 9 subject since I do not fancy geography.1 student enrolled yoruba and 2 students enrolled Hausa language.
On that day I just stayed put in the hostel. I refused writing it because I know nothing just That I speak it. The principal sent for them to look for me, I just disappeared.

This topic of yours is actually very important as it reveals just how deep Africans have been brainwashed while in pusuit of western ideologies hook, line and sinker. No thanks to long years of slavery and colonization. I made a similar post and the result I got is very worrying. See: https://www.nairaland.com/1820035/simple-test-africans-only

And in case you don't know, the poor answers you're getting from Nairalanders is also the reason Africa is generally scientifically backward which is also why we're technologically backward and poor. The education system we inherited from Britain is meant to make us all "educated fools". And as you can see from the answers you're getting here it's doing just that. Francophone, Spanish, and Portuguise African countries are no different.
The emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi captured it when he said "we are all victims of colonization".

I've talked more on this topic and have shown the way to break out of western control. For details see link below.
