The problems and eventual collapse in marriages nowadays keep me asking this burning question from people " at what point do you think God has a hand in a marriage ?" . The storm in marriage is not peculiar only to people we believe are not born again, Christians of all denominations are affected. You hear marriage of 3 , 6, 8 months going down and you remember ,but these people claimed that they were will of God(of course if u go to church for your wedding they ask u if u are sure this is the will of God ) .
Personaly i dont think the wedding date is the day God has a hand in a marriage. That is just ceremony and pastors has to perform his spiritual function by blessing them . In fact , during my marriage counselling, the rev. Confessed to us that he had to join some couples because he has to perform his duty as ordained Rev. not that the blessing is from his heart because he knew the marriage would not last. And fear gripped me with this .
Having said that , we ve seen and heard of situations where the couple just moved in after d family introduction and they are happy forever . Our olden days parents are good example of such.
And so , the question still remain - at what point do you think God has a hand in a marriage ? Please contribution .

God does not have a finger in any marriage at all. It is written that " He who finds..." and not He who is given.

So, let no man drag God into this matter because when such marriages run aground who then caused it? GOD?

Olden days marriages aren't happy, women weir more tolerant of men's excesses. This generation? Very few women are ready to eat as it is dished to them and that is a welcome development.

The people in a marriage makes the union, they decide if it fails or stands.

If a good man finds a woman, good for her.

Otherwise, OYO.

God can guide but he doesn't choose.

God's hand in marriage depends on if the couple invite Him from the beginning and if they choose to walk with Him in the course of their marriage.
The bible also shows us the fruits of the Spirit; love, patience, longsuffering, temperance etc. These virtues are necessary for marriage.

The success of a marriage or otherwise will depend on how much you involve God and walk in His word.He is not an intruder.
